On October 28, as part of in-person learning, Olga Zabolotska, professor of the Department of English Philology and World Literature named after Professor Oleh Mishukov of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism of KSU, delivered a lecture for students of the first (Bachelor's) and second (Master's) levels of higher education on the topic «Multimodality as a phenomenon of modern linguistics».

Students realized that what each of us uses in communication with a recipient—auditory, visual, and kinesthetic means and gestures—constitutes the modes of multimodality.

Learning a foreign language occurs precisely based on the criterion of perceiving information through multimodal means. An interesting discovery for students was the film text as a multimodal construct, in which visual, auditory, and realized modes reflect the real feelings of characters, their clothing, a certain atmosphere of events , accompanied by appropriate musical and sound content.

Using examples of various film texts, the implementation of these modes of multimodality was presented. The lecture was generated by AI in the format of an instructor clone with their voice accompaniment, which highlighted the presence of multimodality in combination with AI tools.
