On October 17, Svyatoslav Vil, a second-year PhD student in the specialty «History and Archaeology» of Kherson State University, participated in the final event of the first «Nobel Week» in Lviv, where he presented a lecture on the Ukrainian trace in the history of the Nobel Prize.

The event took place at the Lviv House of Scientists and was the result of an initiative by the Scientific Society of Students, Postgraduate Students, Doctoral Students, and Young Scientists of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.

As part of the event, Svyatoslav Vil, who works under the scientific supervision of Professor Oleksandr Cheremisin, delivered a lecture «Nobel is closer than it seems». He spoke about the Ukrainian dimension of the Nobel Prize, specifically about its laureates and nominees, as well as prominent figures who were close to receiving the prestigious award. Among the figures highlighted in the lecture were — Heorhii Gamov, Lev Shubnikov, Ivan Franko, and Vasyl Stus.

For Svyatoslav, this presentation was a special event, as he had the opportunity to return to the walls of the university where he previously studied, now as a postgraduate student of Kherson State University.

«For me, this presentation is special. For the first time, I spoke within the walls of my native Lviv University, and now as a postgraduate student of Kherson State University. My lecture “Nobel is closer than it seems” was about Ukrainians among the laureates and nominees, as well as those who stopped just a step away from the prize: Gamov, Shubnikov, Franko, Stus», – shared Svyatoslav Vil, reflecting on his participation.
