A practical workshop on using the StrikePlagiarism.com system took place at KSU
Today, October 20, as part of the Academic Integrity Decade at Kherson State University, the KSU Scientific Library organized a practical workshop focused on modern tools for checking academic texts and the specifics of working with the StrikePlagiarism.com system.
The event was moderated by Alla Koval, Director of the KSU Scientific Library, and the speaker was Daria Ivanova, a representative of StrikePlagiarism.com.
During the meeting, participants became familiar with the platform's functional capabilities, the principles of detecting text matches, and the generation of similarity reports. The speaker demonstrated practical aspects of working with the system, including the ability to detect potential text manipulations, paraphrasing, and translation.
Particular attention was paid to the current challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence in the educational and scientific environment, as well as the opportunities of technological tools in ensuring academic integrity.
Participants were able to learn about the specifics of analyzing similarity reports, verification settings, and the practical aspects of using the system in the educational process and scientific activity.
A key emphasis of the event is that text matches are not automatic proof of plagiarism. The results of the check require professional analysis, and the assessment of possible violations of academic integrity must take into account the context, the nature of the borrowings, and compliance with the rules of academic citation.
The event served as a platform for professional dialogue regarding modern technologies for checking academic texts, the responsible use of artificial intelligence, and the formation of a culture of academic integrity within the university community.
