A KSU postgraduate student spoke at "Nobel Day" in Lviv, delivering a lecture on the Ukrainian dimension of the Nobel Prize
On 17 October, Sviatoslav Vil, a PhD student of the Department of History, Archaeology and Teaching Methods at Kherson State University, delivered a presentation at the concluding “Nobel Day” held at the House of Scientists in Lviv. The event marked the finale of the first “Nobel Week” organized by the Academic Society of the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
He presented a lecture titled “The Nobel Prize Is Closer Than It Seems”, focused on the Ukrainian dimension of the Nobel Prize — from laureates and nominees to those who came within a step of receiving the award: Gamow, Shubnikov, Franko, and Stus.
A second‑year PhD student in the B9 “History and Archaeology” programme at Kherson State University, Sviatoslav Vil (supervised by Prof. Oleksandr Cheremisin), shared his impressions of participating in the “Nobel Day” at the House of Scientists in Lviv on his Facebook page.
In his post, Sviatoslav wrote:
“This presentation was special for me. For the first time, I spoke within the walls of my native Lviv University — now as a PhD student of Kherson State University. My lecture ‘The Nobel Prize Is Closer Than It Seems’ focused on Ukrainians among Nobel laureates and nominees, as well as those who came within a step of receiving the award: Gamow, Shubnikov, Franko, and Stus.”
We wish our PhD student continued success in his academic work!
