Researchers of the faculty Mykola Homaniuk and Ihor Pylypenko represented KSU at the international workshop of the Erasmus+ SAFER project in Bulgaria
On October 14, an international workshop began in Varna (Bulgaria) as part of the Erasmus+ SAFER Sustainable Agri-Futures: Empowering Climate Resilience and Green Growth in Higher Education («Sustainable Agri-Futures: Empowering Climate Resilience and Green Growth in Higher Education»). Scientists from the Department of Geography and Ecology of the Faculty of Digital Technologies, Natural Sciences and Mathematics represented Kherson State University at the event - the SAFER project coordinator from KSU, Associate Professor, PhD in Sociology Mykola Homaniuk and Professor, Doctor of Geographical Sciences Ihor Pylypenko.
The event was organized by Varna University of Management (Varna University of Management, VUM). Higher education institutions from Ukraine, Bulgaria, Greece, Egypt, and Jordan have been involved in the international partnership.
As part of the first day of the workshop, representatives of KSU presented the university's scientific and educational potential, and also participated in discussing the needs of partners and forming the content of future training courses.
The importance of this international cooperation was noted by the Rector of KSU, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi:
«For us, this cooperation is of special importance. The Kherson region is an agricultural region that has suffered and continues to suffer colossal losses due to the war, occupation, and the destruction of the Kakhovka HPP. Issues of water resources, climate resilience, restoration of agricultural production, and the implementation of ecological technologies are strategic for its future.
The mission of the university is not only to preserve scientific potential but also to integrate it into international research and educational solutions that will work towards the restoration of Ukraine.
I thank Mykola Homaniuk and Ihor Pylypenko for representing KSU at the international level, developing partnerships, and working on new opportunities for our students and teachers. We are a university that generates knowledge, develops international cooperation, and works for the future of the Kherson region».
