KSU students explored craft production during a visit to Jager Brewery in Ivano-Frankivsk
The educational visit was part of the practice-oriented program of the in-person week and allowed students to get closer acquainted with the specifics of local beverage production, the development of the craft business, and its place in the modern hospitality industry.
Craft production today is an important component of the gastronomic culture and the tourist attractiveness of regions. Small producers create their own products, form recognizable brands, and offer consumers products with an individual character. During the visit to Jager Brewery, students had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of the local producer and consider the importance of one's own product, regional identity, and brand for the development of the gastronomic business. For students mastering the hotel and restaurant business and craft production, such experience is an important component of professional training.
For the modern hospitality industry involves not only quality service but also an understanding of the origin of products, the specifics of local production, assortment formation, and the interaction of producers with restaurant establishments. Studying the experience of enterprises that develop their own business and form a local gastronomic identity is of particular importance. Such examples can become the basis for future entrepreneurial initiatives of students, particularly in the field of craft production development in the Kherson region.
Kateryna Melnykova, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law of KSU, thanked the Jager Brewery team for their hospitality, openness to cooperation, and the opportunity for students to familiarize themselves with the activities of the craft enterprise. Visiting hospitality industry establishments and local production sites is an important part of the in-person training week of the Faculty of Business and Law. Such events help students combine university knowledge with real business practices, develop professional competencies, and better understand the prospects of future activities.
