From supporting the individual — to the resilience of the university community
On September 29, the team of Kherson State University participated in the second day of the final international scientific-practical conference «Trauma-informed approaches to supporting mental health and developing resilience in conditions of societal crises» and the final meeting of the EU Erasmus+ KA2 project «Boosting University Psychological Resilience and Wellbeing in the (Post-)War Ukrainian Nation» (BURN).
The second day of the conference was dedicated to approaches to psychosocial support and recovery. Participants discussed peer supervision for mental health professionals in times of war and crises, while practical workshops explored ways to develop resilience, cope with chronic stress, and apply a trauma-informed approach in education.
During the poster session, Liudmyla Ostryzhniuk, Head of the KSU Center for Psychological Resilience and Well-being, presented the poster "From Individual Support to University Community Resilience." It highlights the Center's work amidst war and relocation, including group sessions, training workshops, and the activities of the BURN student psychology club.
A special place on the poster is given to scientific achievements: the results of the Center's work are presented in 15 publications, 12 of which are indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.
The final panel discussion brought together project partners to discuss its outcomes, future cooperation, and the further development of the psychological resilience centers established under the BURN project.
We would like to thank Volodymyr Hnatiuk Ternopil National Pedagogical University for hosting the conference, Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University for co-organizing, and all partners of the Erasmus+ CBHE BURN consortium for their collaboration and the opportunity to present the results of our Center's work.
