KSU summarized the results of the Summer School of Professional Development – 2026: program innovations and an increase in the number of participants
The Summer School of Professional Development – 2026 has concluded at Kherson State University. The theme of this year's educational initiative is «Professional activity of a lecturer in the context of digital transformation of the university». The program combined a distance learning format with an off-site in-person module in Uman, which became its key innovation.
First Vice-Rector Serhii Omelchuk reported on the results of the School's work during the rectorate meeting. According to him, 342 participants registered for training this year, which is almost twice the figure of the Winter School (178 people). A 92% increase in the number of participants testifies to a steady interest in professional development programs and the effectiveness of the proposed format.
One of the features of this year's School was an off-site in-person module in Uman, which brought together 59 trainees, including 51 representatives from Kherson State University and 8 participants from other higher education institutions. This format created opportunities for professional communication, exchange of experience, and the development of inter-university cooperation.
As a result of the training, 207 participants successfully completed the program and received certificates. For comparison: after the Winter School, 99 trainees received certificates. Thus, the number of graduates increased by 109%, confirming the relevance of the program and the high level of motivation of its participants.
Serhii Omelchuk separately drew attention to the fact that among the graduates of the Summer School, there were 111 employees of Kherson State University and 96 representatives of other higher education institutions. This testifies that the project has already gone beyond the boundaries of an intra-university initiative and is gradually becoming an open platform for the professional development of the academic community of Ukraine.
The First Vice-Rector also outlined the next steps after the completion of the School. In particular, the scientific and pedagogical staff who underwent training must complete the course on the KSU-online platform and receive the corresponding certificates by September 11, 2026.
During the speech, special attention was paid to the development of unified standards of professional communication at the university. Serhii Omelchuk emphasized the need for a full transition to official interaction with students of higher education through corporate channels, which will promote communication transparency, timely information, and adherence to unified standards for organizing the educational process. In this regard, heads of structural units – vice-rectors, deans of faculties, and heads of departments – have been instructed to ensure the use of corporate email and the KSU24 corporate chat as the main tools for official interaction.
Summarizing the results of the Summer School of Professional Development – 2026, Serhii Omelchuk noted that the project has confirmed its effectiveness as one of the important tools for developing the university's human resource potential. The increase in the number of participants and graduates, the expansion of cooperation with other higher education institutions, and the implementation of unified standards of professional communication became the key results of this year's School.
