KSU has approved the architecture of the corporate artificial intelligence ecosystem
During the presentation, Oleksandr Lemeschuk noted that the new ecosystem involves creating a single digital environment, within which specialized AI agents will provide automation, analytical support, and coordination of the university's educational, scientific, administrative, and managerial processes.
According to the Vice-Rector, the architecture of the ecosystem is built on three main principles: data affinity, methods of processing them, and orientation towards a common final result. This approach allows for the unification of the university's information resources, efficient data processing, and the formation of high-quality management decisions.
Oleksandr Lemeschuk explained that instead of creating a separate digital agent for each structural unit of the university, a centralized model with five functional AI agents has been proposed. This makes it possible to avoid duplication of functions and excessive load on the information system, while ensuring effective interaction between all services.
The architecture was developed by the Center for Digital Expertise of Kherson State University, specifically by Maksym Poltoratskyi—Acting Head of the Center—and Dmytro Volyk.
In particular, the architecture provides for the operation of five specialized agents:
- e-AcademicAgent — support for academic activities, automation of individual teaching plans, preparation of reports, and support for accreditation processes;
- e-GovernanceAgent — administrative management, analysis of regulatory documents and contracts, and legal support;
- e-KnowledgeAgent — management of the corporate knowledge base, searching for scientific information, and integration with repositories;
- e-QualityAgent — ensuring the quality of education, analysis of educational programs, and monitoring their compliance with the requirements of the MES and NAZIAVO;
- e-EngagementAgent — support for communication activities, preparation of information materials, analysis of grant opportunities, and international cooperation.
The distribution of powers for each agent, knowledge sources, and levels of access to information depending on functional purpose were also separately defined.
Commenting on the presented concept, KSU Rector Oleksander Spivakovskyi emphasized that the university is moving to a new stage of digital transformation:
«We propose to integrate new digital agents into it, which will work with large datasets from our information systems, analyze internal processes, take into account changes in the external environment, and help us make decisions faster, more accurately, and more reasonably».
At the same time, he emphasized that artificial intelligence does not replace people or management processes.
«Artificial intelligence does not replace university management. The stability of the university rests on three interconnected components: strong institutions, a modern digital ecosystem, and professional people capable of implementing decisions made. There is also another component that unites all three. It is reputation. The university's reputation. Trust in us. And trust is formed by people», - noted Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.
Having heard and discussed the report, the members of the Academic Council approved the architecture and plan for the corporate artificial intelligence ecosystem at Kherson State University and its functionality.
