Admissions Campaign 2026: what future applicants need to know and advice from the KSU admissions committee

Which stages of admission are currently the most important? What should you pay attention to when taking the NMT? How to correctly determine the priority of applications and avoid common mistakes? This and much more is discussed by Yuriy Yuriyovych Yurchuk, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee of Kherson State University.

– The 2026 admission campaign has already entered its active phase. Which stages are currently the most relevant for applicants?

Here, it is necessary to distinguish between undergraduate and graduate applicants.  If we are talking about undergraduate studies, the National Multi-Subject Test (NMT) is already in full swing. This is the main stage for master's and doctoral applicants.  The main stage of registration for EVI, EFVV, and EVV has just concluded. 

– The main NMT session is currently underway. What should future applicants pay special attention to? 

First and foremost, do not miss the NMT. Log into your personal accounts once more to check your invitation: on which day, at what time, and at which location you will be taking it. And I would like to remind you immediately, please, do not publish this information.  

– What steps must applicants take right now to successfully prepare for submitting applications? Which documents should be prepared in advance?

The submission of applications begins on July 19 for undergraduates. But actually, as you correctly noted, preparation is needed for this. You need to collect a package of documents.

Despite the fact that applications are submitted remotely via the applicant's electronic cabinet, you will still need to provide details.  Therefore, the main preparation is collecting the documents required for admission: passport, tax ID, educational document, and your NMT certificate details. 

– What mistakes do applicants most frequently make during the preparation for the admission campaign?

Probably, if we are talking specifically about the preparation stage, it is leaving everything until the last minute. Because in the final days, it is very difficult to do everything qualitatively and quickly, especially if some problem arises with the documents.  This is probably the most accurate advice – please do not leave everything until the last moment. 

– What do you need to know regarding the creation of the applicant's electronic cabinet?

The applicant's electronic cabinet, or rather the service where you can create this cabinet, begins operating on July 1. 

Do not confuse it with the portal for participants of entrance examinations, which you already have access to now. 

The applicant's cabinet is created in accordance with the specified admission rules.  On the website vstup.edebo.gov.ua.  The applicant creates it themselves in order to provide their necessary details, educational documents, and personal information.

– How do you correctly determine the priority of applications during admission? 

This is probably the most difficult part.  Probably, if you simply respond and arrange your applications in the order of where you want to study and for which specialties. That is how priority works.

But in fact, you need to note that since last year  priority applies not only to budget-funded applications but also to contract-based ones. Therefore, before choosing where you want to apply,  with which priority, which institution, and for which specialty, read very carefully how the wide competition algorithm works. Because, as I have already said, both budget and contract applications will be taken into account.

– What would you advise applicants who have not yet decided on their future specialty? 

Contact the Admissions Committee of Kherson State University; we will certainly advise you on what is best to choose. 

– Are there any specific features or innovations this year that are worth noting? 

One innovation from last year that is definitely worth noting is the inclusion of contract applications in the wide competition algorithm.

The second innovation – is the reduction in the number of applications.  If last year the total number of applications that could be submitted was 15: up to 5 for budget and up to 10 for contract. This year, the total number has been reduced to 10: up to 5 of which can be for budget, and all others for contract. 

– How will the Admissions Committee of Kherson State University operate during the active admission campaign period? 

Generally, our schedule is standard: from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. However, there are certain days, even weekends, when we will work longer,  because the admission rules specify this—these are usually the deadline days for various stages.

– Where can applicants receive consultation and prompt assistance?

At the Admissions Committee of Kherson State University, we work both online and in person.

We are located at 14 Shevchenko St., Ivano-Frankivsk, Admissions Committee Department. 

– Why should future students choose Kherson State University specifically? 

Because we – are the best.  We have a super-convenient learning format for those who do not want to leave their homes,  for those who were forced to leave their homes and, for example, went abroad. Our format allows all applicants to study with us, regardless of your category, age, or preferences.

–  What would you like to wish to the applicants of 2026?

Perhaps I will wish not to the applicants, but to the parents more peace of mind. Do not worry; it is an important stage in life, but if you approach it thoughtfully and prepare in advance, there will be no problems.

– And yet, what is your main piece of advice that you would give to every applicant this year?
