A meeting of the rectorate took place at KSU
On May 11, a meeting of the rectorate was held at Kherson State University. The meeting took place with the participation of Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskyi, the First Vice-Rector, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, and heads of structural units, departments, and services.
KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky noted that the rectorate issues were dedicated to forming future horizons in all areas:
"As we approach the end of the academic year, we discussed the results of monitoring the educational process and the expertise of qualification works. At the same time, as we enter the admission campaign, today we focused on the projected student body in light of the university's new structure, planning the educational process for the 2026-27 academic year, and career guidance work. We summarized international mobility results and focused on the added value that each business trip should bring to the university in the form of new projects, ideas, and development. We reviewed the draft document «On determining time standards for performing types of scientific work by scientific and pedagogical workers of the university,» which was developed by a working group, has passed all expert reviews, and takes into' into account the wishes of the members of the KSU Supervisory Board."
KSU First Vice-Rector Serhii Omelchuk reported on determining the time standards for performing types of scientific work by the university's scientific and pedagogical workers. In particular, he noted that a working group was created a year ago to develop the relevant document. And just last week, a draft time distribution was sent, which provides for norms in hours for the main blocks of scientific work presented back in September at the rectorate. The document also contains notes, criteria, and indicators by which the evaluation will be carried out.
Separately, an additional document was released for discussion and collection of proposals, with the possibility of providing comments and recommendations.
According to the First Vice-Rector, the draft has already passed digital expertise by Vice-Rector Oleksandr Lemeschuk. Deputy Chairman of the KSU Supervisory Board Yevhen Nikolaiev and Supervisory Board member Roman Romanov also expressed their proposals and comments.
Among other things, Serhii Omelchuk informed about the verification of military registration documents of the university's students.
Vice-Rector for Academic and Scientific-Pedallygical Work Daria’ Malchykova presented the projected admission figures for 2026 and the student body of all levels and forms of study as of September 1, 2026, as a basis for modeling financing for the 2026-2027 academic year.
In particular, the Vice-Rector presented the results of monitoring across all levels and within the framework of the university's updated structure.
Daria Malchykova also informed about the final results of the audit of electronic journals for academic/study groups for the autumn semester of the 2025-2026 academic year, according to KSU24 data.
Regarding the preparation for planning the educational process for the 2026–2027 academic year, specifically the development of curricula and working syllabi for educational programs at the first (Bachelor's) and second (Master's) levels of higher education, the Vice-Rector noted that the work is ongoing.
Head of the Education Quality Assurance Department Tetiana Cherkashchyna reported on the expertise of qualification works of second-level (Master's) higher education students (1.9 years of study) in the spring semester of the 2025-2026 academic year.
Vice-Rector for Social-Humanitarian and Scientific-Pedagogical Work Veronika Denysenko reported on the organization and conduct of KSU events. These include the presentation of the book «Khersonites in 2022-2025». There was also a presentation of the exhibition «Ivano-Frankivsk through the eyes of Khersonites,» which can currently be seen in the Ivano-Frankivsk office.
The Vyshyvanka Day is planned for May 21. KSU also continues to hold events as part of its career guidance work.
Vice-Rector for International and Scientific-Pedagogical Work Alla Tsapiv informed about the progress of international projects and the recruitment of students who can participate in academic mobility at Adam Mickiewicz University (Poland).
She also reported on the possibilities of cooperation with Saarland University (Germany) and the University of Agder (Norway). Both universities are new partners for KSU.
Separately, the Vice-Rector addressed the progress of interaction with the management of the University of Klagenfurt (Austria) regarding the material and technical support for the creation of a simulation center for the KSU Faculty of Medicine.
Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Innovation, Investment, and Scientific-Pedagogical Work Oleksandr Lemeschuk reported on the update of KSU24 components and the status of university staff involvement in digital adaptation courses.
His topics also included the implementation of a server received as part of the Erasmus+ DigiUni: Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative («Digital University – open Ukrainian initiative»).
University Chief Accountant Iryna Popova reported on the arrears of students studying with funds from individuals or legal entities and those who were dismissed from KSU for various reasons.
The issues raised by the Acting Head of the Infrastructure Support Department Oleksandr Voloshyn concerned current matters regarding the activities of the KSU Kherson Office and the progress of planned work at the KSU office in Ivano-Frankivsk.
