The participants of the visit had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the infrastructure and educational services provided by the Norwegian University of Agder (University of Agder). The tour was led by Clare Patricia Jortveit - Senior Advisor for International Activities at the University of Agder.

The Rector of Kherson State University, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi, provided some facts about the Norwegian university:

  • more than 14,000 students are enrolled;
  • 2 campuses, 6 faculties + the Faculty of Pedagogy, 23 departments, 24 centers, a museum;
  • the university began its operations in 2007, but its creation through the merger of colleges was preceded by a long history of educational development in the region, starting from 1828.

He also thanked the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin, the deputy head of the KhRAM Oleksandr Tolokonnikov, and Viktoria Maryshchuk – a KSU alumna, currently a chief specialist in the Department for Internal Policy and Communications with Civil Society Institutions of the Department of Internal and Information Policy of the KhRAM.

«It was through your initiative that our first meeting with representatives of the University of Agder took place in November 2025. In the time that has passed, we have established communication and defined directions for academic cooperation. As a result – thanks to a scholarship within the Erasmus+ Global Mobility program, we have the opportunity to represent Ukrainian education and our own case of management and resilience in the crisis conditions of wartime during Democracy Week, and to participate in Business Opportunities: Rebuild Ukraine – Teateret. After all, the reconstruction of Ukraine — is not just about rebuilding buildings and infrastructure, it is about protecting freedom, democracy, and fundamental rights», - noted the Rector of KSU.

A series of meetings lies ahead with the university leadership, representatives of faculties and research centers, public figures, business representatives, and politicians interested in cooperating with Ukraine.
