How to enhance your own intelligence using AI in IT majors at KSU
On April 13, a significant meeting took place for students of the Kherson Academic Lyceum of Kherson State University with an alumnus of this institution and current professor of the Department of Computer Software Engineering and Computer Science of Kherson State University, Vitalii Kobets. The topic of the lecture - "How to augment your own intelligence with artificial intelligence without violating ethical norms" - caused great interest among future applicants who plan to connect their lives with the IT sphere.
Artificial intelligence — the «new electricity» of modern times. During the event, it was emphasized that AI has ceased to be just a trend and has transformed into a powerful tool that adds 40% to the quality of decisions and speeds up the execution of routine tasks by a quarter. Vitalii Kobets emphasized that KSU today — is a digital university that works successfully synchronously in Ivano-Frankivsk and asynchronously in Kherson, providing access to high-quality education from anywhere in the world.
Four vectors of strength for the future IT specialist at KSU. Students of the university's IT specialties are mastering four key directions of AI use:
1. Text and code: creating drafts of software code and copywriting.
2. Visuals: synthesis of images, video content, and 3D modeling for game design.
3. Data and analytics: identifying hidden patterns in user behavior.
4. Automation: development of autonomous agents that perform complex sequences of actions.
Ethics and responsibility: the human at the center of the system. Particular attention was paid to ethical issues. KSU became one of the first universities in Ukraine that, as early as 2022, implemented an official AI usage policy, which clearly distinguishes between algorithmic assistance and a student's own intellectual achievements. «We cannot forbid the future — we must lead it», — noted the lecturer. At the university, students are taught to critically verify AI results using the «Council of AI Services» strategy (Council of AI) and «Chain of Thought» methods (Chain of Thought), to avoid hallucinations and algorithmic errors.
