Presentation of specialty 126 Information Systems and Technologies
Presentation of the new specialty 126 Information Systems and Technologies (specialization “Programming of Financial Instruments") licensed in the framework of the MASTIS project implementation under the ERASMUS + program was implemented at Kherson State University by the Department of Informatics, Software Engineering and Economic Cybernetics.
Project Coordinator, the vice-rector Maxym Vinnyk, gave a welcome speech to the participants of the event - future university entrants, undergraduate students, bachelor's degree students, IT finance and business employers, project participants MASTIS, faculty members, media representatives.
The event was supported by the vice-rector in scientific work Sergey Omelchuk, who noted the expansion of the number of new and modern IT specializations introduced at the university according to European standards, and the Vice-rector in international relations, communication technologies and scientific and pedagogical work Oksana Lavrikova noted that University of the Netherlands is interesting in development of joint curricula in “Programming of Financial Instruments” with the Department of Informatics, Software Engineering and Economic Cybernetics. The head of Department of Informatics, Software Engineering and Economic Cybernetics, Doctor in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Michael Lvov noted there are already 9 international projects in which he and the members of the department take part. The dean of the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Informatics Natalia Kushnir reported on the prospects for the students in participation at the summer IT schools, programs of double diplomas in IT specialties, business start-ups with a prospect of commercialization.
At the beginning of the event, the deputy head of the department Vitaliy Kobets spoke about the results of cooperation between the department and employers in the licensing of specialty 126 Information Systems and Technologies. The requirements of employers at the international and national levels to graduates are combined with the requirements of the teaching results, so the result is introduction of new specialty 126 Information Systems and Technologies (specialization "Programming of Financial Instruments") in 2018.
The head of the Kherson IT branch of DataArt company Dmytro Schedrolosyev noted the master student Tayana Bazanova, who is already working in DataArt, and has the prize-winning place in the All- Ukrainian competition of IT works. He emphasized the close collaboration of the KSU with the IT firm and the opportunities for our students to grow professionally in collaboration with DataArt based on professional IT schools, using the latest developments in the new specialty 126 Information Systems and Technologies.
The next employer representative was Larysa Kramarovska, Human Resources Director of Autoplaneta Holding. She spoke about introducing innovations using information systems and technologies to students in practice in the Automobile Planet Holding. She also noted that most of the students who practice in this company and received scholarships from BOSCH are now working on the managerial positions of the holding.
The new company that took part in the event was the product IT company Z-PRICE LLC, the director Pavel Zarichniy shared the prospects of developing financial instruments in IT companies, for example, automated monitoring of prices for various products using software for competitive pricing on request of Ukrainian and international companies.
Volodymyr Chechotkin, the Deputy Head of the Kherson Branch of PrivatBank, who spoke about the need to develop and implement mobile financial applications for the clients of the bank, took part in the event. The review of the demanded IT competencies from graduates of IT specialties from Kateryna Sheldagaeva, founder of the IT recruitment KAgency company. Emma Palyanitsa, Raiffeisen Bank Aval recruitment manager talked about the urgency of the development of a digital hub by the bank for their own information systems and the prospects of employment of graduates of IT specialties at Raiffeisen Bank Aval.
Anna Pavlovich, a staff manager at the Wezom System Solutions Agency made the report about building a career with Wezom, using mentoring and practice for IT specialist students.
The participants of the event noted that programming of financial instruments is a new and promising area for future entrants, which combines the advantages of introducing modern information systems in finance and business.
After the presentation of a new specialty the coffee beak was made, participants exchanged contacts and plans for future cooperation between employers and the Department of Informatics, Program Engineering and Economic Cybernetics.
