Rector of Kherson State University Oleksandr Spivakovskyi told Kavun.City about the results of the 2026 admission campaign, the quality of education, digital transformation, and international partnership.

Since April 2022, KSU has continued its educational and scientific activities in the format of two offices – in Ivano-Frankivsk and Kherson.

“We have stopped the decline in student enrollment! And this is one of the most important results of the 2026 admissions campaign for Kherson State University. 850 applicants have been enrolled in bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs. Of them, 415 are on state-funded spots. Last year, we admitted 846 students. We have stabilized enrollment. The next task is to move towards sustainable growth. To continue developing educational programs, to become better every day, and to offer students more opportunities. Currently, 2,200 students are studying at the university across three levels”, &ndash- says Oleksandr Spivakovsky.

According to him, there is high interest in psychology, law, management, hospitality and restaurant business, social work, and medicine. At the same time, there is a decrease in interest in pedagogical specialties and fundamental sciences.

“This is not only a problem for KSU. We are talking about the development of artificial intelligence, engineering, and new technologies, but without strong mathematical and natural science preparation, this development is impossible. Therefore, we must combine the current demand of applicants with the strategic needs of the state. It is based on this logic that in 2026, we opened new educational programs «Laboratory Diagnostics» and «Digital Finance and Financial Analytics», – explains Oleksandr Spivakovsky.
