KSU presents the book "Kherson: Path of Patriots" about the resistance of city residents to the Russian occupation
On November 12, a presentation of the book «Kherson: Path of Patriots» will take place in the Ivano-Frankivsk office of Kherson State University.
The book was prepared as part of the research topic «Occupation and Liberation of Kherson: Antonivskyi Bridge, Buzkyi Park and the heroism of civilian resistance» (state registration number 0123U101941), initiated by the Rector of KSU Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.
The publication discusses Kherson at the beginning of the full-scale invasion, and the events that defined the city's experience and its place in the history of this war. At the center of attention are the people who resisted the aggressor country, as well as specific places associated with the memory of these events: Antonivskyi Bridge, Scientific Lyceum, Buzkyi Park.
Today, it is more important than ever to preserve memory and to have a solid foundation for discussing what has been experienced. That is why such publications are necessary for memorialization: they help to make sense of events, preserve their context, and see the people behind them.
The presentation is an opportunity to talk about how to research and make sense of Kherson's recent history today.
