Representatives of KSU visited a creative meeting of Ivano-Frankivsk writers with Kherson readers.
On October 28, an event took place in Ivano-Frankivsk, reflecting the continuity of the literary process even in today's difficult conditions. Its special feature was a dialogue between Ivano-Frankivsk masters of the word and Kherson readers, specifically the faculty and students of Kherson State University, who had previously attended the presentation of the «Tavria Foundation Bulletin» No. 21, which is published at Kherson State University and has been demonstrating its educational, scientific, literary, and local history mission for 21 years.
The writers' delegation was represented by the following individuals: Yevhen Baran, Yaroslav Tkachivskyi, Ivan Havrylovych, Vasyl Babii, Lesia Henyk, Larysa Kolesnyk, Hanna Danyliuk, Natalia Radysh, Mykhailo Batig, Ivan Viitenko. The artistic word sounded inspiring and optimistic, presenting new works by the authors – of high civic resonance and soulful lyricism, landscape sketches, and philosophical reflections. Yevhen Baran, as the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk regional organization of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine, characterized the main milestones of the writers' organization's activities, creative achievements to date, and development prospects, and read his essayistic worldview reflections from the book «From the «Book of the Living»». In the speech of Yaroslav Tkachivskyi – deputy head of the National Writers' Union of Ukraine, a high assessment was given to the creative achievements of Ivano-Frankivsk writers, who worthily and productively approach readers with their word, thereby unambiguously proving that the word is a weapon. This was confirmed in the speeches of each of the writers. As was also confirmed, their word is simultaneously something that touches the depths of the soul, touching its most tender strings, such as, for example, the song «Cornflowers» by Yaroslav Tkachivskyi, which has already become a folk song.
A unique creative experiment was the recitation of the poetry «Oh, my Chuhaystry» by Lesia Henyk and «And the Chuhayster's strength is known by the Scythian woman» by KSU lecturer Vasyl Zahorodniuk, which testified to the intertwining of mountain and steppe themes and their relevance in the current conditions of war.
For this event, a book exhibition of Ivano-Frankivsk authors was presented in the reading room with the beautifully designed title «Under Franko's Star». It exhibited selected works by Yuriy Andrukhovych, Myroslav Aronets, Yevhen Baran, Vasyl Babii, Mykhailo Batoh, Mykhailo Veres, Mariia Vayno, Ivan Viitenko, Hanna Danyliuk, Volodymyr Kachkan, Larysa Kolesnyk, Volodymyr Prysyazhnyuk, Stepan Pushyk, Mariia Tkachivska, Yaroslav Tkachivskyi, Irynya Fotuyma, Marta Khorob, Roman Yuzvia, Dmytro Yusuyp. In addition, the eyes of the audience were drawn to collective books by authors «Under Franko's Star», «Stefanyk's Deed», «From the Wreath of Everlasting Leaves», «Literature of the Native Land. Anthology for grades 5-11». Participants of the event became acquainted with these publications, talked with interest with the authors, feeling the luxury of live communication.
On behalf of Kherson readers, Yuliia Yurina spoke with words of gratitude – dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism and Arts, noting that such meetings provide great positivity, wonderful emotions, and motivate one to read and to win.
