Deans of KSU reported on the preparation of training courses for DigiPlatform within the Erasmus+ project
In his introductory remarks, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi emphasized issues regarding the stability of the university's operations:
"The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine is making payments for socially protected items. Throughout all these years of full-scale war, we have managed to ensure the stable operation of KSU, fulfill obligations to the staff, and avoid sending employees on unpaid leave. However, we must be prepared for new challenges."
Oleksandr Spivakovskyi emphasized that the security situation remains difficult. Attacks on energy and digital infrastructure create additional risks for the organization of learning.
"We prepared KSU's digital infrastructure in advance for operation in crisis conditions. However, we understand that the share of asynchronous learning may increase significantly.
Therefore, it is important not just to ensure students' access to materials, but also to have effective tools for monitoring the quality of learning, feedback, assessment, and the achievement of educational outcomes. And it is precisely here that the capabilities and philosophy of DigiUni take on special significance.
For me, DigiPlatform is not just a place where learning materials can be placed. It is an opportunity to rethink the quality of digital educational content, to create full-fledged courses that, in terms of structure, methodology, and level of interaction with students, can compete with the offerings of leading international educational platforms, including Coursera and others," – emphasized the Rector of KSU.
The main item on the agenda was reports from the deans of faculties regarding the preparation of training courses for DigiPlatform as part of the Erasmus+ DigiUni – The Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative («Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative»).
Currently, 12 training courses have been announced by KSU faculties, which are planned to be developed and presented on the platform.
During the rectorate meeting, Oleksandr Spivakovskyi called on all teachers to join this work. According to him, it is important that all educational and scientific areas are represented. At the same time, special attention is given to topics in which KSU possesses unique expertise.
"This includes crisis management under relocation conditions, personal and institutional memory, and many others that form the intellectual face of Kherson State University.
Technical and methodological issues of course development will be processed in detail during digital transformation training sessions, which take place every Thursday at KSU.
Our task is not just to adapt to the circumstances, but to shape the future of the university. To preserve the fundamentality of education, to use modern technologies, and to transform our own experience into knowledge that is useful for the entire academic community of Ukraine," - summarized Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.
