Проректорка ХДУ взяла участь у конференції, присвяченій протидії насильству
The purpose of the event is to counter sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA), prevent sexual harassment, and develop comprehensive sexual education.
Vice-Rector Veronika Denysenko was one of the speakers at the panel discussion «Creating a Culture of Safety: Practical Steps for Educational Institutions to Prevent Sexual Harassment».
Veronika Denysenko noted that Kherson State University provides a clear and accessible algorithm of actions in cases of discrimination, bullying, and sexual harassment.
«In every HEI, responsible persons, accessible and confidential reporting channels, and a clear response algorithm must be defined. As an example, at KSU, this function is assigned to the Vice-Rector for Social-Humanitarian and Scientific-Pedagogic Work, which I perform. And it is very important that the student feels protected — that they are heard, not blamed, and not subjected to further pressure or harassment. But it is equally important that the person knows: they will not be blamed, devalued, or left alone with the problem. For me, it is fundamental that the educational institution guarantees a safe educational environment and protects the person from repeated harassment, pressure, or persecution after reporting», – the Vice-Rector said.
She emphasized that a person must clearly understand: if they encounter sexual harassment or witness it, they are not left alone with this problem.
«She must know whom to contact, how to do so, and what will happen after reporting», – emphasized Veronika Denysenko.
At KSU, legal and socio-psychological services are also involved in providing support.
