Representatives of KSU visited the "Saved Heritage" exhibition in Ivano-Frankivsk
Співробітники Херсонського державного університету відвідали персональну виставку майстрині з Приазов’я Ганни Щичко «Врятована спадщина», представлену в Івано-Франківському краєзнавчому музеї.
A financier by education, the artist has been passionate about painting, model shipbuilding, artistic photography, and landscape design since childhood.
The exhibition, organized by the Kherson Regional Center for Folk Creativity, introduces visitors to a unique collection of cultural values that the craftswoman managed to save and transport in 2024 from the temporarily occupied territory of the left bank of the Kherson region.
The exposition features ancient wax wreaths, authentic costumes from the south-eastern and central regions of Ukraine, as well as a large collection of original pysanky created by the craftswoman during the occupation. Each pysanka is connected to a specific day, event, emotion, or experience of the author, making this collection a kind of «pysanka diary» of her life under occupation.
During the tour, Natalia Vyhodner, head of the Information and Exhibition Department of the Kherson Regional Center for Folk Creativity, told KSU employees about the artist's creative journey, the features of the presented works, and the history of the collection's rescue.
Getting to know the exposition provided another opportunity to feel how vital the preservation, promotion, and transmission of the cultural heritage of the Kherson region are, especially today, when its traditions and cultural achievements require special attention and support.
