KSU faculty members underwent large-scale training in the digital transformation of education as part of the international DigiUni project

The training lasted from April 24 to May 28, 2026, and combined synchronous and asynchronous formats. Participants worked during Zoom webinars and also independently mastered learning modules on the DigiUni and KSUonline platforms. The total volume of the program was 90 hours (3 ECTS credits).

The program was prepared and conducted by Vitalii Kobets, professor of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering; Nataliia Kuzovova, head of the Department of History, Archaeology, and Teaching Methodology; Yuliia Solona, senior lecturer of the Department of Medicine; and Anastasiia Volianiuk, lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Preschool and Primary Education, who had previously completed a series of trainings under the DigiUni project and received international certificates after completing a course on the University of Alicante platform. Subsequently, through a series of trainings, they shared their acquired experience with colleagues.

During six webinars, instructors mastered modern approaches to creating digital educational courses. Among the main topics:

• developing interactive content using H5P;

• using artificial intelligence tools to search for scientific sources and create lecture materials;

• designing massive open online courses (MOOC);

• media didactics and digital content design;

• integration of AI tools for creating multimedia educational materials;

  use of interactive digital services in e-courses.

Particular attention was paid to the practical component. Each participant had to create their own digital element for an e-course — an interactive test, an H5P task, a forum, a page, or another learning resource, which was immediately integrated into the KSUonline educational environment. Significant emphasis was placed on the principles of digital accessibility, inclusivity, the use of speech synthesis technologies, interactive video, gamification, and the personalization of learning using artificial intelligence.

Representatives from over 30 university departments participated in the training. The greatest activity was demonstrated by instructors of pedagogical, natural sciences and mathematics, economics, law, medicine, and IT specialties. Participants developed digital content for a wide range of disciplines — from physics, biology, and medicine to psychology, history, law, economics, tourism, and foreign languages.

A vital component of the program was the participation of KSU instructors in a series of international open lectures, Intercoaching, conducted by the partner universities of the DigiUni consortium. Over the course of 20 hours, participants became familiar with the best practices of digital education, gamification of learning, project-based learning, digital accessibility, quality assurance of online courses, the use of artificial intelligence, and copyright protection in the digital educational environment.

Separately, Kherson State University presented its own open lecture, «Digital Transformation of Education: Integrating Artificial Intelligence Tools to Create Multimedia Educational Content», which was attended by 144 participants from the partner universities of the Digi<0xC2><0xA0>DigiUni project. During the event, KSU instructors demonstrated the practical possibilities of using Canva, Leonardo AI, Recraft, speech synthesis services, and other modern digital tools to create high-quality and inclusive learning content.

As a result of the training, 34 KSU instructors successfully completed the program and received international certificates. Participants highly appreciated the content and practical value of the course, especially noting the opportunity to immediately implement new digital tools into their own disciplines, modernize the educational courses of Kherson State University, and create high-quality content for the DigiUni project's DigiPlatform.

Similar series of trainings also took place in other partner universities of the DigiUni project. Thus, a cohort of high-class Ukrainian instructors has been formed, who will subsequently work on the digital transformation of Ukrainian education within the framework of the DigiUni project.

The Erasmus+ DigiUni project is aimed at supporting higher education in Ukraine under the conditions of martial law and post-war recovery. It is the largest-scale project under the Erasmus+ program ever implemented in Ukraine. It brings together 21 institutions as full partners and 5 institutions as associate partners.

The project began on December 1, 2023, is designed for four years, and its coordinator is Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
