KSU PhD student Yevhenii Khomenko successfully defended his dissertation in software engineering
Today, August 7, a significant scientific event took place at Kherson State University - the successful defense of a dissertation by PhD graduate Yevhenii Khomenko to obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 121 «Software Engineering».
The topic of the dissertation research is «Development of a local IoT system for monitoring and controlling room conditions based on the Home Assistant platform», supervisor - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Serhii Babichev, professor of the Department of Physics at Kherson State University.
The Rector of Kherson State University, Oleksandr Volodymyrovych Spivakovskyi, who has been dealing with smart room issues since 2011, joined the meeting of the specialized academic council and took an active part in the professional discussion as a practitioner. The Rector emphasized the particular value of this work for the future of the university:
The dissertation research is relevant. This is precisely the case when science directly intersects with practice. Yevhen investigates modern digital solutions, has worked with our university's digital infrastructure for a long time, and well understands the real needs of the digital environment and technological challenges. One day we will certainly implement such technologies, just as we planned during peaceful times. A SMART university becomes a reality thanks to such research.
