A dissertation defense in the specialty "Software Engineering" took place at KSU.
On August 7, a meeting of the one-time specialized scientific council in specialty 121 Software Engineering was held at Kherson State University to conduct the defense of the dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy by the candidate Yevhenii Khomenko.
The dissertation topic is – «Development of a local IoT system for monitoring and controlling the state of premises based on the Home Assistant platform».
Scientific supervisor – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Physics at KSU Serhii Babichev.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Software Engineering at KSU Volodymyr Peschanchenko.
KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskyi also joined. He noted the relevance of the dissertation research.
"This is precisely the case when science directly intersects with practice. Yevhen researches modern digital solutions, has worked for a long time with the digital infrastructure of our university, and well understands the real needs of the digital environment and technological challenges. One day we will certainly implement such technologies as we planned during peaceful times. The SMART university, thanks to such research, becomes a reality.

Based on the results of the defense, the one-time specialized academic council decided to award Yevhen Khomenko the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in specialty 121 «Software Engineering».
