A regional Data Science Center of Excellence will be created at KSU thanks to the Erasmus+ project

The project “Digitalization of higher education in Ukraine through increasing awareness in the field of Data Science” (DSHub), developed by a powerful international consortium of universities, including Kherson State University, has successfully passed selection and received support within the Erasmus+ program (Capacity Building in Higher Education).

Within the framework of the project, Kherson State University will cooperate with leading educational institutions and organizations:

·         Lviv Polytechnic National University (project coordinator),
·         Kharkiv National University of Economics named after Semen Kuznets,
·         National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy,
as well as foreign partners —

·         Silesian University of Technology (Poland),
·         Kaunas University of Technology (Lithuania),
·         University of Alcalá (Spain),
·         University of Jyväskylä (Finland),
·         Lviv and Kharkiv IT clusters.

The total budget for our university is 84,209.98 euros!

The goal of the project is to modernize and strengthen Data Science education in Ukraine by building sustainable capacity at national and regional levels, in accordance with the standards of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA), labor market needs, and the values of inclusive education.

Within the framework of the project, a regional Data Science Center of Excellence (DSCE) will be created at Kherson State University, which will serve as an operational unit for implementing curricula, training teachers, and active cooperation with the IT business. The project also provides for the development and piloting of a harmonized Master's program “Data Science for Business,” the launch of micro-qualification courses, the creation of a bilingual MOOC platform, and the development of long-term partnerships between universities in Ukraine and the EU.

The implementation of the DSHub project is planned for three years. The project is being implemented as part of the Erasmus+ 2026 call (Call: ERASMUS-EDU-2026-CBHE).

“Congratulations to our partners – members of the consortium – on their victory!

I would like to thank my colleagues – Professor Vitalii Kobets, Assistant to the Rector for Strategic Issues Maksym Poltoratskyi, Vice-Rector for Internationalization Alla Tsapiv, and the international relations department team led by Yevheniia Revenko for preparing the project application.

This initiative will not only strengthen the digital competencies of our teachers and students but also contribute to the economic recovery and innovative development of the Kherson region,” noted KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskyi.
