Rector of KSU met with the staffs of the unified faculties
On June 30, the Rector of Kherson State University Oleksandr Spivakovskyi held a meeting with the staffs of three merged faculties. The first vice-rector and vice-rectors also joined the meeting.
From July 1, KSU is moving to a new model. The University will operate under the structure of merged faculties, which are intended to become powerful educational hubs with competitive educational programs. In this regard, changes are taking place in the dean's corps and the structure of departments in accordance with the requirements of current legislation and modern challenges in the field of higher education.
Yes, instead of 8 faculties, 5 will function at KSU. According to the Rector of KSU, Oleksandr Spivakovsky, this was preceded by long discussions, professional debates, and a search for optimal development models. The decision was supported by the University Academic Council.
“For me, this meeting had a special meaning. I feel a responsibility to the university, whose threshold I first crossed back in 1972. Over these decades, KSU has changed many times, but the most important things remained unchanged - people, values, and the desire to develop. That is why our task today is to find the right balance between continuity and moving forward. To preserve the university's best traditions while simultaneously creating new opportunities for development. For me, it is extremely important that in the process of change we do not lose what matters most - trust between people, open communication, mutual respect, and a high-quality educational process. All educational programs at the bachelor's, master's, and doctoral levels continue to operate. Our students will study without any disruptions, and the staff will gain more opportunities for collaborative work, development of educational programs, interdisciplinary cooperation, and the implementation of scientific projects. The leaders of the merged faculties will be elected at the conferences of labor collectives openly and democratically, as will the heads of departments that have undergone transformations. In the meantime, acting deans will perform their duties, as no process should stop. Especially since the admissions campaign starts on July 1. We will enter the new academic year already fully structured. I believe in our university. I believe in our people. Our scientific, intellectual, and human potential allows us to look confidently into the future. Ahead is a new stage. And I am convinced that thanks to professionalism, experience, tolerance, and mutual support, we will make it successful”, – emphasized the rector.
During the meeting, Oleksandr Spivakovsky also familiarized the staff with the new faculty structure and personnel appointments.
