The Vice-rector of KSU joined a conference where experiences of digital transformation in HEIs were shared.
Vice-Rector for Digitalization Oleksandr Lemeshchuk participated in the two-day conference «Digital Transformation of Universities». The conference took place on May 28-29, 2026, at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv).
The event served as a platform for exchanging advanced experience, discussing modern challenges, and forming strategic approaches to implementing innovative solutions in the educational process.
«Digital transformation is not about software, but about people. This very thought accompanied me during these two days in Lviv at the «Digital Transformation of Universities» conference at UKU. I had the opportunity to «go behind the scenes» of many cool projects. What impressed me most was the openness of colleagues. We did not just exchange presentations, but sincerely shared «pain points» and real cases: how to automate learning, why implementing ERP systems is a challenge but a necessity, and how to finally stop «drowning» in paperwork. A special thrill—discussions about AI. This is no longer the future; it is a reality that requires new approaches to science and teaching from us. I am returning to my native KSU not just with notes, but with a wealth of insights and a plan on how we can make our processes even more convenient and modern», – noted Oleksandr Lemeschuk.
The conference program was intensive and focused on practical application. In particular, the work focused on such key areas:
Practical workshops: Detailed development of electronic document management systems, implementation of non-standard tools in Moodle (Perusall, VPL), automation of curriculum planning, and the use of CRM systems to increase the efficiency of interaction with teachers. In particular—a workshop took place under the Erasmus+ DigiUni – The Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative («Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative»), of which Kherson State University is a partner.
Digital maturity and strategies: Discussion of digital maturity indices for universities, ecosystems of digital solutions, and the role of ERP systems in the modernization of institutions.
Integration of artificial intelligence: Analysis of the future of scientific research using AI tools, issues of AI management in the university environment, and the integration of these technologies for the automation of academic processes.
