Representatives of KSU spoke at an international summit with a report on feminatives in higher education

As part of the second day of the international summit on physical sciences, engineering, social sciences, humanities and energy, the first vice-rector of KSU Serhii Omelchuk and the vice-rector for international and scientific-pedagogical work Alla Tsapiv presented the results of the study «Gender Equality on the Institutional Level: A Case Study of the Official Documents and Websites of the Ukrainian Government and Institutions» in the *Social Sciences and Humanities* section.

The report focuses on the use of feminatives in the higher education system of Ukraine and at the institutional level as a component of gender sensitivity policy, linguistic norm, and modern institutional culture.

"We presented the results of an analysis of 152 Ukrainian higher education institutions, official documents of state authorities, as well as a sociological survey of employees of Kherson State University. The study showed that some Ukrainian universities systematically use feminatives in official communication, while most limit their use to news reports," said Serhii Omelchuk.

According to him, the experience of Kherson State University was separately presented, which in 2023 adopted an institutional decision regarding the systematic use of feminatives in professional and official communication.

"It was important for us to present the Ukrainian humanitarian and linguistic context in the international scientific environment, especially in the discussion about gender equality, institutional transformations, and the European integration of Ukrainian science and education.

We thank the Rector of KSU Oleksandr Spivakovsky for his comprehensive support and promotion of scientific research, as well as the organizers of the RIFF Summit for the opportunity for professional dialogue and support for international scientific cooperation," – emphasized the first vice-rector.
