A conference on the problems and prospects of the development of choreographic art was held at KSU.
On May 22, the All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference «Problems and perspectives of the development of choreographic art» with international participation was held at Kherson State University.
The aim of the event was to identify innovative approaches in the process of training specialists in choreographic art in today's conditions, as well as the development of projects and technologies related to the training of teachers of choreographic disciplines.
The conference was attended by teachers of choreographic disciplines from institutions of higher and pre-higher education, leaders of amateur and professional choreoglyphic groups, as well as students of specialties 024 «Choreography», 014 «Secondary Education (Choreography)» and B6.03 «Performing Arts. Choreographic Art».
Serhii Omelchuk, the First Vice-Rector of KSU, addressed the participants with a welcoming word.
«It is extremely important that even in such difficult times you continue to develop choreographic art and involve youth in it. Today, choreography — is not only the art of movement. In the conditions of war, it becomes the language of Ukrainian culture, memory, and emotions through which we convey our national identity. I wish everyone a productive discussion, as science and art stand on equal footing today», — he noted.
Iryna Hoshtanar, Dean of the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Journalism, and Arts, emphasized the importance of art as a source of strength and understanding.
«Today, art especially demonstrates its strength and significance as a space for mutual understanding and support. And your scientific research confirms this once again. I thank the department for the active organization of scientific and creative events.
«I wish the participants not only productive work but also opportunities for live communication, mutual support, and the exchange of ideas. May such meetings inspire new research, creative projects, and professional development», — she emphasized.
The event moderator, Natalia Tereshenko, Head of the Department of Culture and Arts at KSU, noted that the conference has already become a tradition for the university.
«This conference has been held at KSU for many years and each time unites those who live by art and science. We continue to live, work, and create, despite all the challenges. Every year new problems arise, but at the same time new perspectives open up that require reflection, discussion, and a joint search for solutions», — emphasized Natalia Tereshenko.
Subsequently, the work of the conference took place in the following areas:

- Priorities and innovations of a choreographic teacher in working with a choreographic group.
- Preservation of national and cultural traditions in the process of teaching choreography.
