KSU represented Ukraine at the international Erasmus+ youth exchange in Finland.
From April 24 to 30, students of Kherson State University participated in the Erasmus+ international youth exchange program «Our Cities, Our Voices», which took place in Vaasa (Finland).
KSU was worthily represented by Illia Muzyka (Faculty of Biology, Geography and Ecology) and Daria Bukayeva (Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Journalism and Arts).
Together with the youth councils of the cities of Kiel and Vaasa, the Ukrainian delegation spent extremely eventful days. Participants actively shared their experience, presented the cultural characteristics of their cities and countries, and discussed key principles of democracy, inclusion, and participation. Particular attention was paid to practical tasks — specifically, modeling one's own state through the eyes of young leaders.
One of the program days was entirely dedicated to the Ukrainian delegation. KSU students acted as co-organizers for a number of events for European youth.
For Daria Bukayeva, this project was already her second experience participating in Erasmus+ exchange programs. She became one of the organizers of «Culture Day of Ukraine» and conducted an interactive energizer to introduce and unite international participants.
Illia Muzyka successfully acted as the organizer of one of the activities during team building.
The Culture Evening was extremely profound and emotional for all participants. In partnership with a colleague, Daria Bukayeva prepared and presented a thorough overview of the history of Ukrainian music, covering the period from its folklore origins to the work of contemporary performers.
Illia Muzyka delivered an important speech in which he spoke about the course of the war in his native Kherson, noting the unbreakable resilience and heroism of our people. The story deeply moved the Europeans and helped them better understand the Ukrainian reality.
As part of the official section, a symbolic flag exchange ceremony also took place. The flag of the city of Kherson was solemnly presented to the head of the Vaasa Youth Council, while the Ukrainian delegation received the flag of their city from the Kiel Youth Council as a sign of strong partnership and support.
