A meeting of the rectorate was held at KSU
On May 4, a weekly meeting of the rectorate took place at Kherson State University. The event was attended by vice-rectors, deans of faculties, as well as heads of structural units, departments, and services.
First Vice-Rector Serhii Omelchuk moderated the meeting. In particular, he noted that representatives of the natural sciences/mathematics and humanities/arts directions received basic funding for scientific research following the state certification of these directions. Specifically, this includes the profile departments of the Faculty of Biology, Geography and Ecology, the Faculty of Computer Science, Physics and Mathematics, the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology, Journalism and Arts, as well as the Department of History, Archaeology and Teaching Methodology of the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology.
Separately, the First Vice-Rector noted the completion of uploading scientific work collections to the ULIS system, which will contribute to the organization and accessibility of the university's scientific results.
Among other things, Serhii Omelchuk announced the holding of events within the framework of Science Days. He also informed about the organization of spring certification for third-level (research/educational) students, emphasizing the need to adhere to established deadlines and ensure proper preparation of materials for evaluation.
Vice-Rector for Academic and Research-Pedagogical Affairs Daria’a Malchykova informed about the organization of the formation and transfer for archival storage of personal files of students under martial law. The need to comply with the requirements of the relevant order, coordination of faculty work by the academic department, as well as the establishment of clear deadlines for checking, processing, and transferring documents was emphasized.
The Vice-Rector also presented the results of the expertise of second-level (Master's) qualification thesis topics for the 2026–2027 academic year. She drew attention to the consideration of expert comments, as well as the need to refine or justify certain topics with subsequent submission for re-evaluation.
Daria’a Malchykova outlined the procedure for conducting expertise of elective disciplines of the general training cycle on the KSU24 platform.
Vice-Rector for Social-Humanities and Research-Pedagogical Affairs Veronika Denysenko reported on the progress of KSU’s career guidance activities. In particular, she analyzed the holding of the Open Day career guidance event, which took place in Ivano-Frankivsk and brought together about 300 participants. She also spoke about the participation of the Humanities Department representatives in the Alumni Impact Forum 2026.
Additionally, the Vice-Rector reported on receiving equipment from a crowdfunding campaign.
Vice-Rector for Digitalization, Innovation, Investment, and Research-Pedagogical Affairs Oleksandr Lemeschuk informed about the updates to KSU24 components and the status of university resource visits in April 2026.
Regarding the implementation of a server obtained within the framework of the Erasmus+ DigiUni: Digital University — Open Ukrainian Initiative («Digital University – Open Ukrainian Initiative»), the Vice-Rector noted that the server has already been installed and software testing has been conducted.
Attendees also heard information regarding the implementation of international projects and the progress of trainings within the international projects DigiUni, Burn, and SAFER, Academies4Ukraine.
Chief Accountant Iryna Popova informed about the arrears of students studying through funds from individuals or legal entities and those who were expelled from KSU for various reasons.
Oleksandr Voloshyn, Acting Head of the Infrastructure Support Department, reported on current issues regarding the activities of the Kherson office of KSU and the progress of operations at the KSU office in Ivano-Frankivsk.
