KSU — your place of opportunities: about 300 participants joined the Open Day
Kherson State University continues to open new opportunities for future students even amidst the war. This time, Open Day took place in a hybrid format in Ivano-Frankivsk and brought together about 300 participants.
Quality education, modern digital platforms with built-in artificial intelligence tools, international mobility in over 25 universities of the world, community support – these are the advantages emphasized by KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky during Open Day.
"A university is far more than just walls and buildings. First and foremost, a university is people, a community that creates the institution's uniqueness. Kherson State University knows this from experience. Due to the war, we were forced to leave our native Kherson and settle in Ivano-Frankivsk, yet we were able to preserve our team, name, and reputation, and reach a new level of development. Currently, we are among the TOP 50 Ukrainian universities that are best according to the metrics of the Scopus scientometric database. We also hold good positions in other rankings, the results of which are influential criteria for choosing an educational institution. This is important. But it is equally important what values unite the team and what philosophy it follows. For us, this means creating an environment of opportunities for all participants in the educational process – teachers, scientists, students... We create such learning conditions so that a motivated student can get the' the best start for shaping their professional trajectory", - says KSU Rector Oleksandr Spivakovsky.
Such events are not only an opportunity to obtain useful information about admissions but also a chance to feel the university atmosphere and take the first step toward your future.
The event was moderated by the Vice-Rector for Social-Humanitarian and Scientific-Pedagogical Work, Veronika Denysenko. She familiarized applicants with the key advantages of studying at the university and emphasized the wide range of opportunities that KSU offers to students.
Participants of the event learned about:
- current educational programs of the university;
- features of the 2026 admission campaign;
- conditions for admission to bachelor's and master's programs;
- opportunities for international cooperation and academic mobility;
- benefits and special conditions for various categories of applicants.
Particular attention was paid to the practical aspects of admission. The Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Yuriy Yurchuk, told prospective students about the admission campaign and answered relevant questions. At the end of the event, the results of a competition held among Open Day participants were summarized. Dmytro Chabanov emerged as the winner. He received branded gifts from the university — a hoodie, a baseball cap, a tote bag, and other souvenir products with KSU symbols.
Additionally, the Executive Secretary of the Admissions Committee, Yuriy Yurchuk, invited applicants to participate in another interactive competition. It was organized by the admissions committee together with the Digital Infrastructure Department. Participants need to find 20 «cats» on the KSU24 university platform. The competition will last until April 14, and the most active participants will receive pleasant prizes.
"It was pleasant to see familiar names of settlements in the Kherson region, schools with which we have been cooperating for many years. We were glad to see applicants from other regions – we are open!", - emphasized the KSU Rector.
