Practical hospitality case study at Optima Park Hotel for KSU students
As part of the in-person week, students of the Faculty of Business and Law of Kherson State University — future specialists in the fields of «Hotel and Restaurant Business», «Tourism and Recreation» and «Professional Education (Craft Production and Technologies)» — visited Optima Park Hotel in Ivano-Frankivsk on a study visit.
For a modern student, seeing the inner workings of a chain hotel is an opportunity to find answers to questions that cannot be found in textbooks. Each group had its own focus of interest, and the hotel became an ideal platform for exchanging experience.
What exactly did the students research?
- For hoteliers and restaurateurs: they studied the standards of the Optima chain in detail. Particular attention was paid to the ergonomics of the room stock, Front Office operations, and the automation of booking systems. Students were able to assess how a high level of service is maintained under conditions of large guest flow.
- For tourism and recreation specialists: the park-hotel is a unique example of combining urban infrastructure with a recreational zone (near the city lake and park). We analyzed the concept of the facility as a tourist magnet and its role in shaping the region's attractiveness.
- For future masters of craft production: the gastronomic component sparked the greatest interest. Issues regarding technological maps, the use of local products in the restaurant menu, and compliance with HACCP standards are what directly relate to their future professional activities.
