Vice-Rector for International Relations of Kherson State University Alla Tsapiv, within the framework of the German-Ukrainian partnership SUUN at Saarland University in Germany, is participating in a training aimed at the development and improvement of Strategic Action Plans for the development of internationalization in universities.

Only 10 participants from Ukraine, who passed the competitive selection and interview, have the opportunity, alongside a group of experts and fellow participants, to discuss strategies, decisions, and assessments for implementing their internationalization development plans over the course of a week.

Kherson State University has adopted an internationalization strategy, but it is not a static document. It requires constant improvement, taking into account our unique experience in international partnership and ambitious plans.

Key training topics:

  1. Intercultural leadership in the university environment;
  2. Development and implementation of strategic action plans (SAP);
  3. Internationalization of higher education and European practices;
  4. Governance, management, and quality systems in universities;
  5. Risk analysis and strategic development planning.

On behalf of the KSU community, Alla Tsapiv presented our publication “Kherson Essays: To Live is to Win,” which collects personal stories and reflections from university representatives about the full-scale invasion, the war, and the occupation of Kherson, to the Vice-Rector for Internationalization at Saarland University, Professor Dominik Brodowski (Prof. Dominik Brodowski). And to the Academic Director of Saarland University, moderator of the SUUN inter-university partnership, Professor Astrid Fellner (Prof. Dr. Astrid M. Fellner), she presented souvenirs from Ukraine as a symbol of our gratitude and openness to cooperation.

During the training, participants are expected to develop projects for strategic action plans (SAP) for internationalization, with clearly defined implementation steps, risks and ways to minimize them, and success indicators.

Participation in such programs is not just an exchange of experience. It is an opportunity to integrate the best European practices into the development of KSU, strengthen management approaches, and create realistic, measurable tools for internationalization.

Our task is to transform the developed solutions into concrete actions that will strengthen the university's position in the international educational space.
