Representatives of KSU visited the “Saved Heritage” exhibition in Ancient Halych
Representatives of the humanitarian department of Kherson State University visited an exhibition as part of the cultural and art project «Saved Heritage» of the Kherson Regional Center of Folk Creativity.
The event took place at the «Davnyi Halych» National Reserve, where Kherson residents temporarily living in Prykarpattia gathered.
The exhibition features a private collection by an artisan from the Kherson Azov region, which she was able to evacuate from the occupation – antique wax wreaths that survived the war, authentic costumes of the Kherson province, and a large collection of original pysanky created during the occupation.
Ms. Hanna spoke about her pysanky made during the occupation: each one is a separate episode of her life, individual events, emotions, and impulses of mood.
The attendees were particularly keen to learn about the technological secrets of making unusual pysanky-vytynanky and lace-like pysanky.
«RESCUED HERITAGE» – this is the name of a cultural project by the Kherson Regional Center for Folk Art, which presents true treasures of folk art that have endured trials by fire and occupation, traveling through thorny paths from their native home to a new one. They were meant to disappear under shelling, to lose their value among strangers. But they were saved. Evacuated. Preserved.
