At the University of Klagenfurt, representatives of Kherson State University were introduced to the interesting experience of developing digital culture in Austrian society and discussed opportunities for cooperation.

Prof. Andreas Bollin, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Informatics and Didactics at the University of Klagenfurt, presented the education system and approaches to fostering computer thinking.

Semantic models and artificial intelligence are highly popular fields, and an introduction to them begins well before university admission. Through visual constructors and diagrams, children are shown how artificial intelligence works and what kinds of errors it can make, helping them develop critical thinking skills and the ability to construct logical structure before starting any project or task.

The university functions as an open ecosystem: laboratories are accessible not only to students but also to the wider educational community. This is an effective model of seamless integration between school and higher education.

“We discussed the practical dimension of possible cooperation through the Digital Expertise Center, which we are launching at Kherson State University.

During our introduction to the Drone Development Hub, we proposed a networking format, as our graduates and students, who are currently serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, already have unique hands-on experience in assembling and programming UAVs. This idea received sincere support.

The conclusion is clear: investing in digital culture from an early age and ensuring openness of universities to cooperation is the key to building a strong, innovative society.
