Educational Diplomacy in Action: Representatives of KSU Are on a Working Visit in Klagenfurt
Within the Erasmus+ program “Staff Mobility for Training”, a delegation from Kherson State University (KSU), led by Rector Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, met in Klagenfurt (Austria) with the academic coordinator of the partnership, Professor Tilmann Reuther.
Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, together with the Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty, Liubov Petukhova and Vice-Rector for International Affairs, Alla Tsapiv, also personally congratulated Professor Reuther on his birthday.
The visit continued with an extremely important meeting in Krumpendorf with the President of the support association of the University of Klagenfurt, “Universitätsbund”, Ms. Edda Türk, as well as representatives of the Social Democratic Party of Austria.
During the meeting, the participants spoke openly and in depth about Ukraine in the current geopolitical context, the resilience of academic communities and Kherson and Kherson State University. From the history and symbolism of our country to the daily lives of people, the functioning of the economy and universities in the fifth year of the war, as well as our vision of the future - these topics became the foundation of the discussion.
“It was especially important not only to speak, but also to show. Photographs of the damaged buildings of KSU, destroyed facilities, my home after shelling, as well as footage from the period of occupation and searches conducted by the FSB - these are testimonies that speak louder than any words.
‘What can we do for Ukraine?’ - this question was asked by our partners. The answer is obvious: to continue support, to increase pressure on russia and to help Ukraine, which today is defending not only itself but also the values of the entire Europe.
Such meetings are more than communication. They are about forming trust, strengthening partnerships and shaping a shared vision of the future. Each such dialogue is another brick in the strong bridge of support between Ukraine and the European Union,” noted Oleksandr Spivakovskiy.
