From Kherson, Kharkiv and Frankivsk to one university: how the war united three KhSU students
“Galka” tells the stories of three students — a Kherson woman who, like the university, lost her home, a Frankivsk woman who wanted to experience the “southern spirit” through higher education, and a Kharkiv woman who chose KhSU for her second education.
This publication was prepared as part of the project “Strengthening Media Resilience in Ukraine,” which is implemented by the Irondel Foundation (Switzerland) and IRMI, the Institute of Regional Press and Information (Ukraine). It is funded by the Swiss Solidarity Foundation.
Despite the war, relocation, and all the difficulties, Kherson State University has preserved not only the educational process, but also its community. This is also felt among the students who are currently studying in Frankivsk. They talk about the support, professionalism of teachers, a comfortable atmosphere, and the opportunity to express themselves.
For them, this experience is not only about studying, but also about preserving the community and moving forward, despite the circumstances.
