All-Ukrainian Scientific Round Table in Kyiv Brought Together Leading Experts to Discuss Ways to Overcome Educational Losses

On November 19, 2025, the All-Ukrainian Scientific Round Table “The Potential of Scientific Research for Overcoming Educational Losses in Teacher Training” was held at Borys Grinchenko Kyiv Metropolitan University. The event became a platform for professional discussion among scholars, university lecturers, and education administrators on addressing educational gaps caused by the war and prolonged societal challenges.

Participants of the round table examined a number of key areas, including the sociological foundations for overcoming educational losses; psychological and pedagogical approaches to supporting students enrolled in specialties A1 “Educational and Pedagogical Sciences,” A2 “Preschool Education,” and A3 “Primary Education”; the potential of scientific research in developing the competencies of a modern teacher; the implementation of mental health support technologies; and mechanisms for diagnosing and assessing educational losses.

Particular attention was drawn to the presentation by the team of the Pedagogical Faculty of Kherson State University entitled “Transformation under Conditions of Uncertainty: the Case of KSU as a Model of Crisis Management.”

The Acting Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Liubov Yevheniivna Petukhova, presented the experience of Kherson State University in general and the Pedagogical Faculty in particular regarding the preservation of educational quality, organization of work under martial law, occupation, relocation, digital transformation, and adaptation of the educational environment to wartime challenges. Professor Petukhova emphasized the challenges faced by the university since 2022 as well as the decisions that made it possible to overcome them.

Together with Professor Petukhova, the faculty’s experience was presented within the framework of a team report by Nataliia Anatoliivna Voropai, Academic Secretary of KSU and Acting Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Preschool Education; Yurii Yuriiovych Yurchuk, Assistant Dean for Digitalization and Senior Lecturer; and Anastasiia Serhiivna Volianiuk, Assistant Dean for Internationalization and Lecturer. They outlined the university’s key achievements in the areas of digital innovation, international cooperation, and organizational support for ensuring the quality of education.

Participants of the round table highlighted the relevance of the presented developments and emphasized the importance of advancing research practices and implementing solutions aimed at overcoming educational losses and training a competitive new-generation teacher.
