"New names on the map of Kherson"

Kherson historians and sociologists have developed collectible postage stamps. Natalia Kuzovova, Head of the Department of History, Archaeology and Teaching Methods, took part in the development. The presentation took place on the basis of the educational and cultural HUB of the Ivano-Frankivsk office of the KhSU. The series of postage stamps includes three blocks of nine stamps each. Each block contains stamps of one theme: “Defenders of Ukraine”, “Artists, Musicians, Theatergoers and Scientists” and “Public Figures”.

In 2023-2024, in accordance with the Law of Ukraine “On the Condemnation and Prohibition of the Propaganda of Russian Imperial Policy in Ukraine and the Decolonization of Toponymy” (2023), a number of toponyms were renamed in Kherson and the Kherson Urban Territorial Community. This collection was prepared to perpetuate the memory of outstanding personalities in whose honor the streets of Kherson are named.
