Breaking News. Speaking Club for KSU Academics
On November 3, the Breaking News - Speaking Club for KSU Academics meeting was held by Anthony Manning, Dean for Global & Lifelong Learning at the University of Kent (the UK), an experienced academic and native speaker of British English.
The event was attended by academic and administrative staff of our university, including the Vice-Rector for International, Social, Humanitarian and Scientific and Pedagogical Work, Doctor of Philology, Professor Alla Tsapiv.
During the meeting, we traditionally discussed four recent news:
📍 the incessant noise that the residents of the Swiss town of Aarwangen have to endure and how they cope with it;
📍the resumption of the annual Día de los Muertos festival in Mexico after the end of the Covid pandemic;
📍 the failure of the vote to expand the political influence of Aborigines in Australia;
📍 anti-Semitic sentiments prevailing in the world in connection with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
