First Vice-Rector of Kherson State University Dr. Alexander Spivakovsky during his in-depth course in the USA, due to IREX UASP participation, got an offer from Eastern Washington University to sign the Memorandum of Understanding
The First Vice-Rector of the University Dr. Alexander Spivakovsky during his in-depth course in the Eastern Washington University (EWU) from the 22nd of September, 2012, is investigating the American experience in managing the universities. The research work of Alexander Spivakovskiy is focused on the management of university IT-assets in the context of synchronization of other assets’ management. The First Vice-Rector of KSU actively collaborates with the Chief of EWU Information Office Dr. Gary L. Pratt and the Executive Director, Office of Global Initiative of EWU Catherine Dixon. During the meeting with the scientific advisors on the 23rd of October, 2012, Alexander Spivakovsky received an offer to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between Eastern Washington University, Cheney, the U.S., and Kherson State University, Kherson, Ukraine. After agreeing of some parts of the Memorandum in a telephone conversation with the Rector of KSU Dr. Alexander Khodosovtsev, the final text of the document was prepared. It was signed by American and Ukrainian Parties on the 24th of October, 2012.
The Memorandum of Understanding provides long-term objectives between EWU and KSU, which will include the development and implementation of joint projects and their submission for grants, providing consulting services by EWU staff to develop a strategy for ICT development in KSU and opportunities for mobility of teachers, staff and students of both institutions etc.
After an internship of the First Vice-Rector Dr. Alexander Spivakovsky in Eastern Washington University, KSU will start a joint project in developing a strategic plan for the development of KSU IT and its submission for grant assistance from the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX).
