On March 29, a scientific laboratory of medical and biological foundations of physical culture and sports was opened at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of KhSU.
The newly created modern educational space became part of the project for the development of the infrastructure of the higher education institution. The laboratory is equipped with simulators, an exercise bike, a treadmill, and a massage table. Also, a unique piece of equipment - a bioimpedance analyzer - will be purchased soon. This device will allow a complete analysis of the composition of the human body: water content, fat level, calculation of bone and muscle mass. In the Kherson region, such an apparatus will be available only at the Kherson State University.
"The youth of Kherson State University should have only the best and use it for their own capitalization. It is important that the university develops. And the faculty, which educates future athletes and coaches, should be proud not only of sports achievements, but also to develop research work. This is an important step towards the formation of an environment in which scientific research work, along with academic work, will become our standard," said Oleksandr Spivakovskiy, rector of the KhSU, at the opening.
Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports, Ivan Glukhov, noted that the laboratory will allow developing the scientific component not only among students, but also among young scientists and teaching staff: "Thanks to such interactive classrooms, the educational process can be carried out in a mixed form at the faculty. Trainings and scientific conferences are also held with the involvement of specialists from all over Ukraine."
3rd year student Ksenia Chepelyak is sure that the opening of a scientific laboratory of medical and biological foundations of physical culture and sports is an important step for the faculty. "We can use the newly created classroom to prepare practical and laboratory works. This is a wonderful and useful opportunity for us. In addition, we will use this auditorium for mixed learning, which is very relevant nowadays," commented the third-year student.
Note that the university is currently working on an infrastructure development project. Within the framework of which, according to the decision of the Academic Council, 33 classrooms for mixed education should be opened in the institution of higher education. The first such educational space was equipped at the Faculty of Ukrainian and Foreign Philology and Journalism. Today, this is already the second such audience.
