On January 26-29, 2016, the Championship of Ukraine in freestyle wrestling among youth under 23 years of age was held in Kyiv at the Olympic base in Koncha-Zaspa. Athletes from the Kherson region successfully performed at the first competitions of 2016.
Among women, "gold" in the weight category up to 69 kg went to Alla Belinska, a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport, and "silver" - to another student of the Faculty, Elizaveta Saidakova. The held competition was a qualifier for the European Championship, which will take place in the second half of March 2016 in Bulgaria.
