First-year students visited the KSU Museum
On March 29, 131 groups of the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology visited the National Model Museum of History of KSU for a sightseeing tour "From St. George's Teachers' Institute to Kherson State University".
A specialist of the museum-archive center Alyona Didenko told the students about the history of creation and development of the university.
Students learned about the movement of student groups that existed in the 80's in the CDPI. Student agricultural mechanized detachments "Kolos", "Korchaginets" harvested grain in the fields of Kherson region, provided great assistance in harvesting vegetables and fruits of the state farm "Amber". The student construction detachment "Danko" worked on constructions of the Kherson region. Students of higher education were especially interested in information about the international construction team "Druzhba", which worked in the city of Shumen (Bulgaria) - the brothers of Kherson. The commander of this detachment was Irina Salibeeva, a student of the Faculty of Philology. Today she heads the Faculty of Psychology, History and Sociology. Iryna Shaposhnikova - Doctor of Sociological Sciences, Professor, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine. Members of the Druzhba detachment together with Bulgarian students worked on the construction of the 1300 Years of Bulgaria monument. This unit was reported in the Bulgarian newspaper Shumenska Zarya, where Iryna is pictured with her future husband Serhiy Shaposhnikov. Students looked with interest at the uniform of a member of the All-Union Student Construction Detachment, which Iryna Vasylivna presented to the museum, as well as a diploma in Bulgarian and dolls in Bulgarian national costume.
