Today, August 7, a significant scientific event took place at Kherson State University - the successful defense of a dissertation by PhD graduate Yevhenii Khomenko to obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 121 «Software Engineering».
The topic of the dissertation research is «Development of a local IoT system for monitoring and controlling room conditions based on the Home Assistant platform», supervisor - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Serhii Babichev, professor of the Department of Physics at Kherson State University.
On July 30, 2026, in his 82nd year of life, after a serious illness, Mykola Ivanovych Babenko passed away – a PERSON whose name is forever inscribed in the history of Kherson education, Honored Teacher of Ukraine, Honorary Citizen of Kherson, founder of the city's first physics and mathematics lyceum, long-time director of the Kherson Physics and Technical Lyceum, wise mentor, outstanding educator, talented leader, and a true patriot of Ukraine.

Artem Shevchenko, a 4th-year student majoring in 122 Computer Science at the Faculty of Digital Technologies, Natural Sciences, and Mathematics (FDTNSM), won the regional classical chess tournament "S.A. Golubev Memorial." The competition took place from July 14 to July 18 in Odesa.

Програма охопила широкий спектр тем - від використання байєсівських мереж та алгоритмів криптографії до інтеграції ШІ у вивчення мов і побудови фреймворків для самонавчання. Приділили увагу також методиці викладання математики у сучасній школі та фундаментальним питанням фізичної реальності.
