Who is eligible for a social scholarship?

Social categories eligible for receiving a social scholarship:

1. Orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as individuals from these categories who continue their studies up to the age of 23 or until the completion of their higher education. Also, students (cadets) of higher education institutions who lost their parents during their studies between the ages of 18 and 23;
2. Individuals eligible for a social scholarship as victims of the Chornobyl disaster;
3. Miners with at least three years of underground work experience;
4. Individuals who became students within three years after completing basic and/or full secondary education, whose parents are miners with at least 15 years of underground work experience, or who died as a result of a work-related accident, or who were classified as persons with disabilities of group I or II, according to Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Increasing the Prestige of Mining Labor";
5. Individuals recognized as affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity and combatants;
6. Children of individuals recognized as affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity and combatants (until they complete their higher education, but not beyond the age of 23);
7. Children of deceased, missing, or perished participants of the Revolution of Dignity, combatants, persons with disabilities due to war, or Defenders of Ukraine (until the completion of their higher education, but not beyond the age of 23);
8. Children registered as internally displaced persons (until the completion of their studies, but not beyond the age of 23);
9. Individuals awarded social scholarships of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for students from among orphans and children from low-income families;
10. Children with disabilities and persons with disabilities of groups I–III;
11. Students from low-income families;
12. Persons with disabilities due to war;
13. Children of persons with disabilities due to war (until the completion of their higher education, but not beyond the age of 23);
14. Participants and persons with disabilities as a result of the Revolution of Dignity or military actions, until the completion of higher education, with no age restrictions.

Please note: Only students who do not receive an academic scholarship, are enrolled in full-time education, and are studying at the expense of the state budget are eligible to receive a social scholarship.
Orphaned students are entitled to receive both social and academic scholarships simultaneously.

What is required to receive a social scholarship?

To receive a social scholarship, students must submit two applications:

Application for receiving a social scholarship;

Application with the bank card number for payments.

ALL APPLICATIONS MUST BE FILLED OUT BY HAND (MANUALLY).

Copies of documents must be attached to the application.

List of documents required for the assignment of a social scholarship to students of privileged categories in full-time study at state-funded programs:

1.    Orphans and children deprived of parental care, as well as individuals from these categories who continue their studies until the age of 23 or until the completion of their higher education, as well as students (cadets) of higher education institutions who lost their parents during their studies between the ages of 18 and 23

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the decision from the guardianship and custody authority granting orphan status or status of a child deprived of parental care, or an extract from the record card for orphans and children deprived of parental care;
• Copy of the parents' death certificate (or one of them) and/or a copy of the court decision on the deprivation of parental rights (of both parents or one of them).

Note: This category of students may also receive an academic scholarship in addition to the social scholarship (if it is awarded based on the ranking).

2. Individuals eligible for a social scholarship as victims of the Chornobyl disaster:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the certificate of a person affected by the Chornobyl disaster and the supplement.

Note: This category of students includes individuals mentioned in Articles 20-22 and 30 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Status and Social Protection of Citizens Affected by the Chornobyl Disaster."

3. Miners with at least three years of underground work experience:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Certificate from the mining enterprise confirming underground work experience.

4. Individuals who became students within three years after completing basic and/or full secondary education, whose parents are miners with at least 15 years of underground work experience or who died as a result of a work-related accident, or who were classified as persons with disabilities of group I or II, according to Article 5 of the Law of Ukraine "On Increasing the Prestige of Mining Labor":

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Certificate from the mining enterprise confirming underground work experience;
• Accident report related to production, form N-1 (for parents with disabilities);
• Copy of the medical and social expert commission (MSEC) certificate (for parents with disabilities);
• Copy of the parent's death certificate (mother/father).

5. Individuals recognized as affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity and combatants:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the Revolution of Dignity participant's certificate (of the established form);
• Copy of the combatant's certificate;
• Certificate from the social protection authority confirming registration in the Unified State Automated Register of Persons Entitled to Benefits, with a reference to the legal norm establishing the combatant status, or a copy of the certificate about the direct participation of the person in measures to ensure national security and defense, countering and deterring the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and ensuring their implementation.

6. Children of individuals recognized as affected participants of the Revolution of Dignity and combatants (until the completion of the child's studies at the higher educational institution, but no longer than until they reach 23 years of age):

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the certificate of the affected participant of the Revolution of Dignity of the established form;
• Copy of the combatant's certificate;
• Copy of the certificate about direct participation of the person in the anti-terrorist operation, ensuring its conduct, and defending Ukraine's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, or a copy of the certificate about the person's participation in national security and defense measures to repel and contain the armed aggression of the Russian Federation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.

7. Children of deceased, missing (or killed) participants of the Revolution of Dignity, combatants, persons with disabilities as a result of war, or Defenders of Ukraine (until the completion of the child's studies at the higher educational institution, but no longer than until they reach 23 years of age):

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the death certificate of the parent (mother/father);
• Copy of the certificate or document of the established form for the family member of the deceased (killed) war veteran;
• Document confirming the death (or missing status) of one of the parents, issued by a military formation, or the court decision declaring the parent as missing (deceased);
• Copy of the MSEC certificate (for those who died due to injury, concussion, or disability).

8. Children registered as internally displaced persons (until the completion of their studies at the educational institution, but no longer than until they reach 23 years of age):

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the certificate of registration as an internally displaced person.

9. Individuals who have been assigned social scholarships by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for students of higher educational institutions from among orphans and children from low-income families:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (copy of the certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the resolution from the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the assignment of the Verkhovna Rada social scholarship.

10. Children with disabilities and individuals with disabilities of group I – III:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the medical conclusion for a child with a disability under 18 years old, or a copy of the MSEC certificate (for the period the certificate is valid);
• Copy of the pension certificate (if available).

11. Students from low-income families:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Certificate from the social protection authority confirming the family's eligibility for assistance under the Law of Ukraine "On State Social Assistance to Low-Income Families" (valid for the period of the certificate, typically issued for 6 months).

12. Individuals with disabilities due to war:

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Copy of the certificate of disability due to war of the established form.

13. Children of individuals with disabilities due to war (until the completion of the child's studies at the higher educational institution, but no longer than until they reach 23 years of age):

• Application signed by the faculty dean;
• Copy of the passport (pages 1, 2, and registration page);
• Copy of the tax identification number (TIN) certificate (certificate of assignment of a registration number of the taxpayer's card);
• Copy of the birth certificate;
• Copy of the student ID;
• Certificate from the social protection authority confirming registration in the Unified State Automated Register of Persons Entitled to Benefits, based on the registered (actual) residence address, indicating the legal norm under which the person was recognized as a war invalid;
• Copy of the certificate of disability due to war of the established form.
