Oleh was born in Kherson. After graduating from Kherson Specialised School No. 30, he studied at the Hydrometeorological Technical College. In 2004, Oleh graduated from the Institute of Natural Sciences at Kherson State University with a degree in Ecology. He worked at the Lower Dnipro National Nature Park (2017–2021) and, from December 2021, at Kherson Water Utility as a member of the security department.In March 2024, Oleh Vozniuk was called up for military service. He was wounded twice and suffered burns whilst carrying out combat duties. After receiving treatment, he intended to rejoin his brothers-in-arms, but fate had other plans....On August 25th, after a long period of medical care, the heart of the brave defender of Ukraine stopped at a military hospital in Kharkiv. |

In 2007, Andrii enrolled at the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Kherson State University. In 2011, he graduated with a bachelor's degree (major: practical training instructor in mechanisation, specialisation: machinery maintenance). By 2012, he had earned a Master’s degree, qualifying as a specialist instructor in agricultural production technology and food processing. Before the full-scale russian invasion, he worked at Korabel Ltd. In October 2023, Andrii volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, joining the ranks of the elite 95th Air Assault Brigade.On 1 January 2024, Andrii was killed while defending the village of Zhytlivka in the Severodonetsk District, Luhansk Region. He was posthumously awarded the Order for Courage (3rd Class) under Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 255 of 30 April 2024. |

Vasyl was born in the village of Klevan. In 2001, he graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Pedagogy at Kherson State Pedagogical University. Since 2015, he had made his home in the village of Zalisoche, within the Olytsk territorial community, where he lived with his family. Vasyl was a veteran of the Anti-Terrorist Operation in eastern Ukraine, having served with military unit B 0113 in the Donetsk and Luhansk Regions. From the very first days of the full-scale invasion, he did not hesitate to stand up in defence of his homeland. Senior Soldier Vasyl Kivinskyi, call sign ‘Hary’, served as a marksman (sniper-rifleman) in the 1st Mechanised Platoon, 7th Mechanised Company, 3rd Mechanised Battalion (military unit A 4674). He fought with distinction on the Zaporizhzhia front. Despite sustaining multiple concussions, he continued to defend his land against the invaders. On August 20, 2023, while executing a combat mission near the village of Robotyne, Zaporizhzhia Region, Senior Soldier Kivinskyi was killed in action during a hostile kamikaze drone strike. |

Anton was born in the village of Dobropillia within the Kherson Region. In 2011, he graduated from the Faculty of Culture and Arts at Kherson State University, qualifying as a stage actor, television director, and psychologist and worked at the Faculty for some time. Anton resided in Kherson with his family. He worked for the "Skifia" TV channel, where he served as a journalist and live-broadcast director, and was the long-time presenter of the weather forecast. Anton was known for his positive attitude, cheerful nature, radiant smile, and deep love for Ukraine. When the full-scale invasion broke out, Anton evacuated his family from the city occupied by russian forces and joined the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a soldier in the 28th Separate Mechanised Brigade, named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign. On December 20, 2022, at the age of 35, Anton Kolomiiets was killed in action under enemy shelling while saving his comrades in the fighting for Bakhmut in Ozerianivka. He was posthumously awarded the Order for Courage. |

Oleksandr Kuzmenko (14 June 1996 – 21 September 2024) |
Oleksandr was born in the village of Oleksandrivka, Kalanchak District, Kherson Oblast. After graduating from Oleksandrivka Secondary School, he received a scholarship to study at Kherson State University. From 2013 to 2017, he studied at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Human Health, and Tourism, in the field of Service Industries, specialising in International Tourism, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Tourism. He was an active participant in the Let’s Travel Around Kherson Region Social Project, which aimed to develop local tourism. The project was implemented by the KSU Tourism Department in partnership with the Kherson Regional Organisation of the National Union of Local Historians of Ukraine between 2017 and 2022.Oleksandr Kuzmenko, call sign Blyzniuk (Twin), served as an aerial reconnaissance soldier in the 61st Separate Mechanised Steppe Brigade (Unit A0362). He carried out reconnaissance missions, served as a fire adjustment officer and took part in combat operations from the very beginning of russia’s full-scale invasion. Oleksandr fought on the front lines in the Mykolaiv and Kherson Regions (including the liberation of Kherson), the Donetsk Region (near Soledar), and the Kharkiv Region (near Vovchansk). On September 21, 2024, Junior Sergeant Oleksandr Kuzmenko was killed in action while performing a combat mission in the Kursk Region. |

Yurii was born in Pervomaisk in the Mykolaiv Region. In 1997, he graduated from the Kherson Polytechnic College with a degree in the maintenance of CNC machine tools and robotic systems, qualifying as a junior electromechanical engineer. In 2002, he graduated with honours from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Kherson State Pedagogical University, earning qualifications as a physical education and wellness teacher, a sports club head, and an organiser of tourism activities. Between 2002 and 2008, Yurii Liashko worked as a physical education teacher at the Kherson Physics and Technology Lyceum. In 2004, he founded the Kherson City Basketball Federation, which he supported until the outbreak of the war. Yurii was an excellent teacher and a talented coach; he trained many basketball players, leading them to victories in city and regional competitions. He supported the soldiers in the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO), helped to set up a coffee shop and worked there until 24 February 2022, organising inspiring patriotic events for young people. Following the start of the full-scale russian invasion, Yuriy went to the front lines to defend the values and independence of the Ukrainian people. On 27 June 2023, Yuriy Lyashko died heroically near Bakhmut, defending Ukraine against the russian invaiders. |

In 2006, Serhii graduated from the Rubanivka Secondary School No. 1 in the Velyka Lepetykha district. In 2011, he graduated from the Faculty of Physical Education and Sport at Kherson State University and earned a Specialist degree, qualifying as a coach and instructor in Olympic and professional sports. He was also known as an active participant in the football life of the Kherson Region. Serhii took part in many tournaments and competed in the ATO Veterans League for the ATO Heroes Cup. On the pitch, he was a leader, a player who knew how to inspire the team with unwavering energy and belief in victory.Serhii Marchenko had been defending Ukraine since 2014. He served as a commander of a deep reconnaissance company within the 140th Separate Marine Reconnaissance Battalion. He later commanded a detachment within the 801st Centre for Anti-Submarine Diversionary Defence, a specialised unit of the Ukrainian Navy. Sehrii held the rank of Captain 2nd rank (Commander or OF-4 in NATO forces) and was known by his call sign ‘Sirko’.On August 13, 2025, while on duty in the Black Sea, Serhii Marchenko was killed in action alongside two of his comrades. Yurii was born in Tsiurupinsk (now known as Oleshky). After completing his secondary education, he graduated from Tsiurupynsk Vocational School No. 31 with a degree in Agricultural Production Accounting. In 2007, Yurii graduated from the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science at Kherson State University and earned a degree as a teacher of Mathematics and Fundamentals of Informatics. From 2008 to 2010, Yurii Nabit worked as a First Category Specialist at the Laboratory of Integrated Learning Environments at Kherson State University. Later, he taught informatics at Kherson Specialised School No. 30, where he also worked as a technician, assisting colleagues with technical issues. He was a 1st category teacher and worked as a system administrator. Yurii Nabit dedicated many years of his life to the education and upbringing of several generations of students. His professionalism, wisdom, patience, and love for children deserve deep respect. He did far more than just transfer knowledge, but helped his students unlock their potential and believe in themselves. Yurii remained calm, balanced, witty, and kind - that is how he will be remembered by the academic staff, students, and their parents. Following the occupation of the Kherson region, Yurii Nabit’s family was forced to relocate to Lviv. Even then, he remained dedicated to his students, continuing to teach them remotely. Driven by a desire to take part in the liberation of his home region, he eventually volunteered for the Marine Corps. He served with the 241st Oleshky Sands Combined Arms Training Ground under the Marine Corps Command of the Ukrainian Navy. On 7 May 2025, Yurii Nabit was buried at Lychakiv Cemetery, in the Field of Honorary Burials for modern-day Heroes. |

Andrii was born in the village of Strointsy in the Tyvriv district of the Vinnytsia Region. In 1999, he graduated from the Tyvriv Scientific Lyceum, a boarding school for in-depth science preparation, receiving a certificate of merit in Chemistry and Biology. From 1999 to 2004, Andrii studied at the Faculty of Psychology and Natural Sciences of Kherson State University, specialising in Biology and Chemistry, where he earned a Master’s degree and qualified as a Biology lecturer and Chemistry teacher. He worked in the Department of Materials, Substances, and Products Research at the Vinnytsia Research Expert and Forensic Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.When the full-scale invasion broke out, Andrii answered the call of duty on the very first day. He was a Junior Sergeant, call sign "Batiar," and served as the commander of a rifle squad in the 110th Separate Mechanised Brigade named after General-Khorunzhyi Marko Bezruchko. On 24 May 2022, Andrii was killed in action, during the defence of the Avdiivka sector in the Donetsk region. For three years, he was listed as missing in action. On 25 July 2025, the Vinnytsia community bid farewell to Andriy Pavlov, a Defender of Ukraine, who was laid to rest in the Walk of Fame at the Sabariv Cemetery. May the Hero rest in peace! |

Viktor was born in the village of Novochornomoria in the Hola Prystan district of Kherson Region. In 2014, he graduated from the Faculty of Psychology, History, and Sociology at Kherson State University and earned qualifications as a historian and a teacher of history and law. With the onset of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine, he was conscripted and served on the front lines as part of the Kherson Border Guard Detachment to defend the freedom and sovereignty of his homeland. On 24 February 2022, the very first day of the invasion, Viktor was killed in action during an enemy air strike near the administrative boundary of temporarily occupied Crimea. He was posthumously awarded the For Courage Order. |

In 2012, Oleksandr graduated from Komyshansk Secondary School No. 26 of the Kherson City Council. He was awarded a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in physical education and got the highest mark for the Defence of the Homeland course. That same year, he enrolled in the Faculty of Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics at Kherson State University, majoring in Informatics. In 2014, Oleksandr switched to part-time study, as he joined the Kherson Special Purpose Patrol Police Company under the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine. In 2016, he earned a Bachelor’s degree, qualifying as an Information Technology Specialist. Oleksandr Piskun was deployed to the ATO zone many times. Later, he joined the Liut (Fury) United Assault Brigade, the Special Purpose Police Department of the Ukrainian National Police, specifically the Tsunami Regiment. He served as a Deputy Platoon Commander and held the rank of Senior Police Lieutenant. On 28 June 2024, during combat operations, Oleksandr Piskun sustained fatal injuries as a result of enemy shelling near the village of Karlivka in the Donetsk Region. He was a hero who volunteered for service during the early days of the ATO and ultimately gave his life defending his Homeland. |

Yevhen Filiov was born in Velyka Lepetykha within the Kherson region. In 2017, he graduated from Velyka Lepetykha Secondary School No. 2 with a Certificate of Merit for outstanding achievements in physical education and the Defence of the Homeland Course. From 2017 to 2020, Yevhen studied at the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of Kherson State University from 2017 to 2020, specialising in Secondary Education (Physical Culture) under a state-funded program. He chose the specialisation: Methodology of Tourism and Mass Sports Activities. Yevhen had a deep love for nature and was a member of the Sports Tourism club and later became its president. In his youth, he joined the Kherson branch of the National Corps. Moreover, Yevhen was an active member of the Kristal Kherson football community and a part of the Red Fox group. On 24 February 2022, Yevhen joined Azov-Dnipro, the 98th Territorial Defence Battalion, participating in the defence and counteroffensive operations in the Zaporizhzhia sector. In 2023, following the formation of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, he and his comrades were transferred to the 1st Mechanised Battalion. As a Junior Sergeant with the call sign "Filia," he served as a UAV operator. In January 2023, Yevhen sustained a gunshot shrapnel wound to his left shoulder. After treatment and rehabilitation, he returned to the defence of Ukraine. On 8 March 2024, Yevhen was killed in action in the Avdiivka sector of the Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he came under enemy artillery fire and sustained fatal wounds. He was laid to rest at the Western Cemetery in Odesa. For his bravery and unwavering commitment, Yevhen was awarded the Steel Cross and the War Veteran medals and was posthumously honoured with the Order for Courage, 3rd Class. Ihor was born in Kherson. In 2020, he graduated from the Kherson Physics and Technical Lyceum and enrolled in the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at Kherson State University. Athletic, active, and responsible, he decided to become a coach, as he loved sports and constantly attended the gym before the war. When the war began, Ihor did not hesitate to volunteer. At just 19, he signed a contract with the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, where he got a call sign "Skif". Even while on the front lines, he continued his studies at Kherson State University. Ihor was among those who defended Bakhmut. During his service, he was wounded several times and received treatment at a rehabilitation centre, but even whilst in hospital, he continued to attend classes and took his exams. After recovery, he was transferred from the infantry and retrained as a drone operator, becoming a commander of a small group of five men. He was deeply devoted to his brothers-in-arms, mourning their losses while remaining steadfast in his love for Ukraine and his conviction in ultimate victory. In 2024, Ihor graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Physical Culture and Sports. On 27 March 2025, a 22-year-old defender, Ihor Shtutsa, was killed in action in the village of Novoyegorivka, Svatove District, Luhansk Region. He was buried in the village of Muzykovka in the Kherson Region, the place where he grew up and spent his summer holidays, where his grandparents loved and raised him, and where his great-grandfathers are buried. Ihor was awarded the For Military Valour badge, the For Personal Courage in Battle medal, and the For Wounded medal. May the Hero rest in peace! |

Oleksandr was born in the village of Hornostaivka in the Kherson Region. He was a double alumnus of Kherson State University, holding degrees in both Musical Art (2013) and History Education (2011). He worked in the university symphony orchestra and the Troisti Muzyky ensemble. His life was defined by the stage and music. From 2010 he worked as a guitar teacher at Kherson School No. 4 and was the bass guitarist in the ReDance cover band. Between 2016 and 2021, he combined these two roles with his work in the police music orchestra. With the begining of the full-scale invasion, Oleksandr Yurov joined the 124th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training, received an officer rank, and became a platoon commander. He conducted several successful operations on the left bank. During his service he was awarded the President of Ukraine's honorary award For the Defense of Ukraine." Oleksandr was an idealist, romantic, patriot, desperate and courageous warrior, a creative person, a tru leader and an expert in his field. He was the best at everything and valued everywhere. He had big dreams and even bigger prospects and goals. Oleksandr was a role model to his students and a hero to his family, colleagues and comrades-in-arms. He used to tell everyone: “Love Ukraine as you love your own family.” He was a man with an inner code of honour who believed in goodness, justice and our victory right up to his last breath. Throughout his entire service, he never took leave, never even thought about it, because he always said: "It is not the time, as we must do everything possible to achieve our victory and peace in our country." For a time, he was transferred from the infantry to a human resources position, but he wanted something else. He was eager for combat; he did not want to sit on the sidelines or deal with paperwork. He wanted to be more involved in the liberation of his homeland. He dreamed of liberating the left bank of the Kherson region from occupation, to save his parents, relatives, fellow countrymen, to reclaim the rest of Ukraine’s occupied lands, and to preserve the integrity and unity of the country. On 28 September 2023, Second Lieutenant Oleksandr Yurov, call sign ‘Musician’, was killed in action during a combat mission in the Kherson Region. Whilst holding positions on the left bank of the Dnipro, he was fatally wounded by a direct enemy artillery strike. |

Andriy was born in the village of Kruhloozirka, in the Holoprystan district of the Kherson region. In 1992, he graduated from the Kherson Medical College, qualifying as a paramedic. For two years, he worked as a paramedic and laboratory assistant at the Kherson Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital. In 199,4 Andrii enrolled in the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Kherson State Pedagogical Institute, majoring in Biology and Chemistry. In 1999, he earned a Specialist’s degree as a teacher of Biology, Chemistry, Valeology and the Fundamentals of Ecology. Andrii was the organiser and the first head of the centralised cytological laboratory, which opened in December 2009 at the Kherson Regional Oncological Center. He passed away on September 18, 2024, in a hospital due to injuries sustained while defending his nation. He brought together a team of like-minded people and will forever be remembered by them as a modest, responsible colleague and a true professional. Andrii Zaveryukha was a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. On 18 September 2024, he died in hospital as a result of his injuries. May the Hero rest in peace! |

Ruslan was born in the village of Inhulets within Kherson region and spent his whole life in Kherson. In 1994, he graduated from Specialised Secondary School No. 27 in Kherson. He was creative and romantic, wrote poetry, acted in the school theatre, and quoted his favourite work, Chasing Two Hares. After completing the pre-university preparatory faculty at the Kherson State Pedagogical Institute in 1995, Ruslan enrolled in the Faculty of Ukrainian Philology of this university. In 1999, he earned a Specialist’s degree in History and a qualification of a history teacher. Ruslan Yarosh taught history at the Kherson State Maritime Academy, served as an operative detective in the Criminal Investigation Department of the Dnipro District Police in Kherson, and worked as a security specialist for the Donkredit GP. In autumn 2022, Ruslan enlisted in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a driver in the 77th Separate Airmobile Naddniprianska Brigade on the eastern front, with the call sign "Major". Throughout his entire service, Ruslan performed combat missions in the most dangerous frontline sectors with selfless courage, unwavering morale, and total dedication to his oath. He lived by the conviction: "If not me, then who?" He was respected by his comrades-in-arms, was demanding of himself, and always came to the aid of others, even at the risk of his own life. He served as a Senior Soldier and worked as a driver. He transported fighters to their positions and retrieved them, provided aid to the wounded ones, and transported those killed and injured in action, saving the lives of many people. His professionalism and courage were vital in the most difficult situations where quick reaction and bravery were required. Ruslan served in Bakhmut and Kharkiv, the hottest spots of the front. On July 17, 2025, Ruslan Yarosh was killed in action, courageously defending Ukrainian land from the enemy near Lozova in the Kharkiv region. For a long time, he was listed as missing in action. He is survived by his two daughters, his wife, his sister, and his parents. Ruslan Yarosh was 48 years old. The soldier dreamed of victory, peace, and a bright future for his family and the country. He wanted to see Niagara Falls and the ocean. On 4 April 2026, Ruslan Yarosh was buried in Odesa. May his memory be eternal!

Вадим народився у місті Херсон. У 2017 році закінчив Херсонську загальноосвітню школу I - III ступенів № 4, де його пам’ятають активним, життєрадісним юнаком, чиє життя було нерозривно пов’язане з туризмом. Він любив підкорювати нові вершини, знав ціну справжньої дружби в поході та завжди був готовий підставити плече товаришу, не боявся труднощів. Вадим був вихованцем та наставником Херсонського обласного центру туризму і краєзнавства. За своє життя він здобув титул чемпіона України, був досвідченим спортсменом, професійним туристом, чесним суддею на всіх змаганнях, які проводились. У 2017 році Кононенко Вадим вступив до Херсонського державного університету на факультет фізичного виховання та спорту за спеціальністю 014.11 Середня освіта (фізична культура). У червні 2021 року був відрахований з контингенту здобувачів IV курсу денної форми навчання за невиконання вимог індивідуального навчального плану. У 2025 році поновився на заочну форму навчання та отримав диплом бакалавра 30.06.2025 року. В університеті був активним студентом, входив до складу студентської ради, приймав участь у спортивних змаганнях, був у складі суддів на змаганнях з туризму, чесний, порядний, щирий, добрий, веселий. Морський піхотинець, матрос Кононенко Вадим був вірний присязі українській нації до кінця і не залишив поле бою у найважчі хвилини. Під час виконання бойового завдання військовий загинув на Херсонському напрямку. Вічна пам'ять Герою! |
